Ohhhhhhhhhhh MAN!!!!

Did I order my 2015 JUST in time or what?! DAMN...I'm glad I didn't wait until the 2016's because no way would my dealer negotiate down to the CU pricing I got without a GM kickback... And I would have had to wait until they had allocation which means I prob would have missed the July 14 deadline...

(Wipes sweat off of brow)

Going from a huge chunk of thousands off down to $200 over invoice to now only $750 allowance cash?? That's weaksauce dude...

Does GM rebate GM Points or the CU discount to the dealer, or are the dealer costs affected?

Question, If one has a Sup. Cert 0n a 2016 to be ordered, will the car be discounted another $750 if they are a CU member?

Default Question on Dealer Rembursement of GM Points

I was told by my dealer that GM Card points are reimbursed by GM to the dealer.

I was also told this by the supervisor at GM Card Customer Service over the phone. HOWEVER, she also said that a dealer is not required to participate in the program, which I find absolutely stupid if a dealer is not going to participate. But she says it does occur, although the dealer is reimbursed the GM Card redemption amount by GM.

Does anyone know if the GM Card points program is going to change?

BTW.........even though my GM Card online account showed the 2015 Z06 (which is what I was inquiring about at the time) excluded from the program, and the phone rep at GM Card told me the same thing, when i spoke with her supervisor I was told that I could use my points on a 2015 Z06 Coupe or Convertible).

I asked her about a 2016 Z06, but she said that they had no information on that yet, which made sense at the time (May 2015).

I have not heard still about a 2016, but my TPW is 7/13/2015, so I hope it is included in the program.

to your dealership for honoring the prices you quoted. Got to wonder just how many dealerships would do that.

I don't see many dealers offering deep discounts on the 2016 models.

What I found interesting in Ken's post #1....are requirements just to get the $750.00 discount.

I would think that many dealers did CU deals for the 2014 & 2015MY's and the customer never supplied them with the CU Certificate numbers.

If this $750.00 discount is the only discount offered by GM for the 2016 Stingray and Z51, then those who bought the 2014 and 2015's with deep discounts got great deals.

Since GM only raised the pricing on the 2016 MY by a small amount, and many C7 owners who placed orders thinking the C7 was priced right, they may have another thought coming when they don't get the big CU discount anymore.

This elimination of the CU discount is a game changer for many would-be buyers.

Let's see how this plays out.

I'd bet the big players who were giving 10% on slow movers without using the CU discount will be back after the fever to get a '16 calms down.

I remember when I passed on a sweet deal the end of January '14 only to get gut shot with the price increase in February. I was literally wounded emotionally like many are now. CU discount came along and I was back on board..... 8%ish off made me feel like I was robbing a bank.

I just went through the process and joined the credit union. I did order a 16 Z51 and paid $700 over invoice when I ordered the car. According to the GM credit union site it's saying there is zero rebate for any corvette. So I'm not sure where they are getting the $750 from. If someone could post a link. I was able to obtain the 9 digit number but again it's showing -0- for any make Corvette.

There never was a CU 'rebate'. The GM CU program allowed you to buy at Supplier pricing (invoice + $200).

Ok that makes sense. I contacted my dealer to see if they would honor it. That would save me $500 anyway. I had to fight for two weeks just to get the $700 over invoice.

If you negotiated your deal with credit union pricing does the dealer have to honor it..? I have a target production week of 7/13

If your dealer accepted credit union pricing, you should not have been paying $700 over invoice anyway... CU pricing is always $200 over invoice no matter the model/options choosen, for everybody, everywhere, at every dealer.

I figured you would be fine, Joe is a standup guy (I had a 14 on order from him long time ago that I had to cancel).

They move many vettes, I figured they would still honor already submitted orders.

Honestly, I think it's up to the dealer themselves, but since you ordered already and came to a deal, it honestly would be wrong for your dealer not to honor it.

That being said, many dealers will sing a different tune once they realize they are giving you a vette at $200 over invoice and now not getting any kickback from GM for it.

How did you work this out without prices. Did he just say $200 over invoice?
