Any Top Tier fuel is going to keep your tank and injectors clean.
And that's why I use Costco premium, it's top tier, non ethanol, and priced significantly lower than Shell around here. For instance, my local Shell station is selling Nitro + premium today for a staggering price of $1.449 per liter! ($5.48 per gallon!!) But I filled up at Costco at a much better (but still terrible) price of $1.259 per liter ($4.76)
Now sure it's possible that Shell's new fuel is going to keep my fuel system slightly cleaner than Costco would, but I also add a bottle of Gumout All in One every 5000 miles anyways, so that should help clean up any slight carbon deposits that may have formed anyways.

Patman, nothing you add to the fuel in an LT1 is going to keep carbon deposits off the valves. As you know, the LT1 is direct injected so no fuel is there to wash the valves.
On a S/C car with 100% Methanol Injection the Meth may slightly decrease carbon build up as it washes the valves. I don't think any independant tests have proved this but it makes sense.
I use Shell to keep my fuel system.clean, not to help with carbon deposits.
I agree that any top tier gas is the best way to go. In my area, Shell is only a few penny's more than other gas but sounds like you Canadians get the shaft with fuel prices up there.
Edit: Top Tier fuel will still keep the combustion chamber free from carbon, it just won't clean the back of the valves or stems.

We definitely get shafted on our pricing, but I'm at least happy I can still get non ethanol premium at a lot of stations right now. I know that's not going to last forever though, and that day will be a sad one
Thought that I would give it a try. Filled up Thursday afternoon and paid $3.04 a gallon, about .05 a gallon higher than Texaco that I generally use. Have only used about a 1/4 tank so it will be a bit before the results are in, I am thinking that it will take at least two tankfuls ( 28+ gallons ) before I will be able to discern any real difference.
At present my mileage is 18.5 average, not great but OK as I drive in some stop and go rush hour stuff. And as for get up and go it will be a tough call as I am not going to the 1/4 mile to test that. The seat of your pants test is my best indicator, and my 0-60 time which is around 4.1-4.2, not bad for a non Z51 7M. Might get it better if I could get more grip but the standard tires do like to spin and even when hot don't grip all that well.
So, if this thread is active in a month or so I will report my findings.
I've put 3 tanks of Shell Nitro 91 octane gas in my C7 (7,700 miles) and I can tell you it is not marketing hype. The "pinging", which I have experienced almost from day one, is now gone. I tested it today on the same roads and at the same speeds as before and no pinging whatsoever. I sure wish they had Nitro when I owned my C6. The C6 pinged from day one and I could never get rid of it. It didn't matter what gas I used or what additives, it pinged. Hope everyone else who is using has had as much success as I have. Happy motoring folks.

What gas, and what octane, were you using previously? Unless an engine has a tremendous deposit build up, which seems unlikely in 7000 miles, pinging is probably a sign of inadequate octane, not inadequate detergent levels.

I use nothing but top tier 91 octane gas from Shell, Chevron, Exxon-Mobil or Texaco. I've never used anything but top tier gas. And I don't baby my cars. I blow them out every chance I get. I have no idea why my C6 and C7 both pinged. I'm just glad my C7 doesn't anymore.
