The 14/15 tail lights on that Camaro where an awful choice, so boring. They needed something. I really don't care if they look like Corvette lights.
When I was young and we did lots of family vacations in the car (think really long boring road trips) I would keep myself amused by looking at car tail lights from very far away and seeing if I could identify the car. I knew almost every car tail light back then lol.
This forum should be rejoicing this. The corvette is the halo car of chevrolet and it trickling down just solidifies how healthy and successful the c7 is.
I'm just shocked people are surprised. I mean... look at some audis or porsches. Their brand identity with lights is very solid.
Throughout the model's history, Camaros have borrowed taillight themes from Corvette. This is nothing new. There are really much more important things to worry about.
I think the new Camaro looks great, don't worry guys, it won't steal your thunder. I can't understand the hate for this car on this site. WTH, it's a Chevy!
The new camaro got similar door lines from the corvette as well, but seems too similar to the previous gen to be called a redesign. The interior on the camaro's is pretty bad though
Edit: just looking at the 2016 interior, it's improved, but still has that flat dash feel that is too elevated

Walking around killing time yesterday at a large local Chevy dealer - there were three C7's and what seemed to be 100+ Camaros. I mean they were everywhere. After the 3 C7's began the multiple rows of Camaros. Seeing these two cars side by side, you realize they are so radically different in design, how someone gets so caught up in the tail light resemblance is beyond me? Regardless of which design looks best (a obvious choice for me) these cars are so different in so many respects, that a "similar" tail light means nothing to me.

They did lower it some (the dash) to help with visibility along with thinning the A pillars...prolly not enough though.
"Bob!....we have an extra crate of Corvette tail lites"! ....."Just send them over to the station wagon line.....nobody will be the wiser cuzz the Corvette Forum hasn't been invented yet"!...........
This is a big who cares for me. Why wouldn't Chevy share some DNA? Wonder if Aventador owners whine about peon Huracan owners and their similar tail lights?
They are not total idiots...when you have a car that has won as many awards as the C7 it is only natural to design som of those elements into their pony car....
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
