Based on what I've read on this forum it sounds like most of the cars headed for the west coast go by train from Toledo. Not sure what states and cities are included but for sure it's CA, WA, OR and I think Nevada. Transport by train appears to add a couple weeks to the delivery time.

Or what feels like a couple of years if your car is one sitting in the Toledo rail yard.
It seems that if your destination dealer is within about 1,000 miles of Bowling Green, it goes by truck. More than that and it is a combination of truck/train. Train delivery to the west coast can add 3-5 weeks (sometimes more).
OP, you are in central Texas, so by truck for you.

I actually had a buddy that bought a 12 GS in Charleston SC and his car was one of the ones that got train dust/rust or whatever. So Lord knows where it had been. BTW it was bad enough that they bought the car back from him and that's pretty darn rare. I didn't think it was that bad, but he sure did.
