Not sure if this answers your question. There is no removal of the existing dials. A pre-cut circle of adhesive tape is provided that you place on the front of the dial. The ring is then pressed onto the tape. It holds extremely well. If you wanted to remove them, you would have to give a good pull and then clean off any remaining adhesive.

Ok...thought they were dial replacements.
I was wanting to remove the dial; paint them; and replace...guess not.
I had a set in my Camaro....and I liked them.....but they are slick.....and of course shortly after I got mine they came out with them that had a knurled texture. got them from "the chevy mall"
