My wife and I love finding small town hole in the wall type places to eat. We found a new one in a little place called Morales, Texas. I parked my 465 horses in the appropriate place.
For all you Texas guys: Look up Snow's BBQ east of Austin. Only open Saturday's, and like Franklin's in Austin, when it's gone it's gone. Show up no later than 9:30 AM to make sure you get exactly what you want (be prepared to wait in line 1.5-2 hours some Saturday's. Best BBQ I've ever had and that includes their chicken, pork, and turkey. As Guy Fieri would say "It's out of bounds!"
Side note: the pit master at Snow's is an 80 year old woman
I grew up very close to Morales....Hallettsville. Soooo, seel2000....are you from nearby?
I'm from Victoria. We live in Inez, TX now.
I just ate in Helotes on the way back from The Frio trip last weekend. We stopped at a really cool Mexican restaurant with very cool decor inside. Had an aquarium and some good size TV's. Forgot the name of the place, my BIL took us there. Helotes looks like a place I could live. Don't like SA much.
