Default The wait after ordering...

Hello everyone, forum newbie here.

Been reading the forum for months, and after seeing all the raves from numerous members, I finally decided to pull the trigger and order a C7 Stingray.

2016 Racing Yellow 7M 3LT Coupe w/ Z51, Jet black interior
DUP: Red/white/blue stripes
J6E: Yellow caliper
CFA: Body color roof panel
FE4: Magnetic selective ride control
5Z2: Z51 satin black/yellow stripe wheels
36S: Yellow custom stitch
IWE: Suede-wrapped upper interior trim package
FAY: Carbon fiber interior trim
5ZG: Carbon fiber wheel center caps
TTV: Carbon flash painted spoilers / mirrors
EYT: Ornamentation Ext Emblem Nameplate Carbon Flash Pkg

As of 7/27/15, the age of order is 51 days...
but...
STILL NO TPW!

The dealer told me the delay is due to the Z51 constraint...
and if i change the order to a non-Z51, the order will be processed quicker...

Forum members, give me strength to endure and wait! lol

Was wondering... how did everyone else spend their time waiting for their C7?

I've been spending money on accessories for my C7...
...which isn't even built yet...
let alone a TPW...

I bought some accessories and gave it a name. You know, I'd think naming your future kid must be hell. I had a tough time and it's just a car. My wait went pretty fast though. No constraints. You could ditch the Z51 and go FE2 or whatever the 2016 ZF1+ MRC option is called.

Love the choices you've made, I'd hang in there and wait unless you can really do without the Z51 (as said above, get the ZF1/FE2 appearance pkg. instead, whatever it's now called)....dying to see your new wheels!
Patience.....

Wait for Z51. You will feel better after the wait. Do not compromise. The car will feel sweeter when you get it.

Exactly...... your dealer doesn't have allocation. Time to get another dealer or March into dealership tomorrow and demand one or switch dealers. Call MacMulkin.

Try and be patient, of course, this is under the impression that your dealer has sufficient allocations.

Placed my order last Thursday, just a base coupe, no progression for me yet.

Some guys actually wrote into their contract that they must see proof of order within 24 hrs. of signing the contract or their deposit would be refunded.

Hopefully your dealer does have an allocation. Might want to verify that with him and if the answer is no, may want to consider going with one that does.

Yep... Ordered mine on the 14th, and allocation was picked up two days later.

Have a heart to heart with the dealer, if you know and trust them, and if you don't get realistic reassurances cNcel and order with a big forum dealer like Mike Furman, Rick Conti or Dave Kerbeck. You will likely have an order in progress within days or weeks, rather than months or not at all.

I ordered from MacMulkin on the 1st and am stuck at 1100 waiting on Z51 and painted roof. Hopefully my order will get picked up this week.

Here are some thoughts:
First: I ordered mine in May 2013 months before any were built! Talk about a wait!
Second: Download the Owner's Manual and most important, the Infotainment Manual. You'll want the PDF's anyway as they are searchable! Lots to read and don't panic with all the options in the Infotainment system, no real need to use most! Voice command works great and avoids going thru menues. Also consider using SD cards to store music. I have two, one with about every CD I own and another lower capacity one with only "Oldies" some of which I converted to MP3's from Youtube! Have over 500 songs that play in a shuffle mode as soon as I get in the car. No 2nd sides of hits, all music I picked and was able to drop XM since I found that is mostly what I was listening to.
Third: There are many accessories to consider also information you won't find in magazine articles etc. In fact I have documented 35 for my C7, most are mods, many small but a fun read while you wait. Below is a link to one on "Tire Chatter" you'll not find the details it discusses unless you search a lot of old forum threads. (Searching the forum is a great way to get answers your reading may cause you to ask.) For example it's not different Ackerman geometry in the C7 since folks report it goes away with all-season tires. I show the causes and why all-season tires eliminate or mitigate the issue! Although I have some anecdotes about "Chatter" nothing will really prepare you for an attempted full lock, slow speed turn when pulling out of a parking slot at 35 degrees! It fact it's so bad you'll quickly follow the advice of not turnig the wheel more than a 1/2 turn from full lock and use a "K" turn! One incident mentioned is a fellow who posted he pulled out of a parking slot right after he got his car and on a very cold night. It vibrated so bad he stopped, looked under the car to see what broke! His wife did not want him to continue to drive the car but rather call the dealer and have it toed! It's that bad! The GM simple "It's normal" doesn't cut it!
The other 34 PDF topics are listed at the end: http://netwelding.com/Wheel_Chatter.pdf
Have fun!

The wheels you ordered 5Z2 are an LPO, they are not factory installed. For $3740 MSRP you are getting 4 tires and 8 wheels. The 5Z2 wheels are available for approx. $2100 from forum dealers and even on Ebay. You could save a lot if you just take the car with the base Z51 wheels and add the 5Z2's later. I found out the hard way. Of course you could always sell the base wheels if you could find a buyer.

An order from a dealer that has allocations for a car with no constraints should take 6 to 8 weeks. That was what I was told. My order took 7 weeks to complete.

I went to MacMulkin ready to order a white Z51 Coupe but he had so many new 2016's IN THE SHOWROOM and his price is the best I could find anywhere, I just bought one off the floor. NO WAITING.
And they are terrific to deal with. Best buying experience I've ever had.

My advice--ask your dealer for the status code of your order and weekly updates on this.

If you get frustrated and abandon them, Rick Conti at Coughlin got me mine. You can take either courtesy delivery at a dealer nearby to you or NCM delivery in Bowling Green so you don't have to travel to Columbus OH to pick it up.

I did the same, ordered Lloyd's logo mats for the front and cargo area. Looked for Corvette hats and haunted Corvette vendor sites looking for other this to order (didn't find much I wanted).

I also decided to build a small collection of diecast Corvettes for bookshelf (C1-C7), which kept me occupied looking at auction sites and keeping me in a "Corvette Sate of Mind". .

Also hung out here every day to get educated on my new car and also followed my car's progress w/ the Chevy CS folks.

Fortunately no constraints on mine and my dealer had lots of allocations so I had mine less than 8 weeks.

I'm in the same boat as above with a new Z06. I am hoping that my order gets picked up this week. I'm looking for some "other" wheels with PSS's on them to have as DD Tires/Wheels and keep the cup 2's for track days.
Tapping fingers every day just waiting on the order to (at least) get picked up.

This is going to be very unique. A yellow car with the red/white/blue stripe. I can't wait to see what it looks like!
