Default PDR question

Ok so if it's not broke... Take my 15 z51 in for second oil change. Figure why don't I get the PDR update. Live in Cali don't want any valet sound issues. Dealer has the car the whole day. Says he had to call GM for instructions. Get the car back and screen looks the same with no sound even the track mode. Maybe I'm neurotic but cars not driving the same. Shifting is sluggish , flares and clunks 3-1 and into 4th like never before at 4000 mi. PDR New version different than old but still doesn't match version reported here for reflash.should I drive it to relearn shifts ?I'm afraid to ask them for a8 reflash. This is a big dealer here locally.By the way oil was a quarter inch over top . Sucked it down myself without problem.Think I need a new dealer.Bottom line is it possible a simple pdr reflash screwed up other electronics?

I am going to wait a little longer before I get mine done..

PDR isn't going to affect shifting.

As far as the PDR itself goes, find the thread where the version numbers are posted. Unless there's been a newer update, your version number should match what is there. It take take doing the update twice for the version number to be correct and the picture to improve.

How about sharing the dealer's name? I am in Contra Costa County and will be looking for a reliable Corvette service department once I take delivery of my Vette. I want to be sure to avoid this dealer if he is close by to me. Thanks

Rest assured this is not a Bay Area dealer. I wish I had a solid dealer closer to me and I do know where I would take my car for important things but minor issues are matter of convenience. What I don't like about social media are the ad hominems and bad mouthing that goes on. If this was something serious I would name the dealer. Each of us must form their own opinion about the service received and act accordingly. My first oil change was fine with this dealer, the second was not.change it yourself or trust and verify.I do believe it may be possible to affect other systems in the car when doing upgrades. I neglected to say I also lost my seat presets in the transaction.Had to do those over so something more general happened to my car than you would expect from a simple pdr upgrade.

I had my PDR (2015 Z06) reflashed on Monday with the second oil change. The whole thing took about 90 minutes. The PDR green tinge is gone and there IS sound. (It goes silent only in valet mode.) I did take the precaution of handing the service writer a copy of the service bulletin.

Thanks for the info. I understand your feelings about social media and appreciate knowing it isn't a bay area dealer.

Unless your PDR reports the software version of 23350846AT you do not have the newest version. As for the A8 reprogram, there was a noticeable difference with zero issues. Sounds like the PDR at least needs to be re-flashed.

You're fortunate, in that you have one of the best dealers in the country conveniently located a short hop across a bridge or two... Abel Chevrolet in Rio Vista. They are known for premier Corvette service, have a couple of the best mechanics, and all of the staff are well trained and will treat you right.

Give Rich Wilhoff (Service Manager) a call and introduce yourself.

Thanks for the recommendation. My son just had his Vette delivered to him about a month ago and will be looking for a reliable service department. I ordered my Vette on July 20 and am hoping for an allocation number in the next week or two. Hopefully the restraint on the standard top will be removed. I will certainly share your recommendation with him and consider them once I get mine.

Just ask in the Northern California forum if you need additional validation... You'll get plenty!

Admittedly, I am new to the forum and don't yet know how everything works. How do I find/get to the "NORTHERN CALIFORNIA FORUM"? Thanks in advance for any help offered.
