FWIW, that 1/4 inch the windows go down (max allowed to avaoid pinching according to GM) is no where near enough!
I got my C7 in October 2013 and still cannot latch my hatch without the door open! It has a working memory wire activated vent that is much larger than than small 1/4 inch gap in the windows when the door opens. In fact many of us have had that problem and in a GM dealer memo it said to lower both windows "3 inches" and if the hatch latches tell the customer it's working as designed! Small pressure differentials acting on a large area, like a door require a great deal of force.
For the 2016 they revered back to what I had in my C6, a motorized pull down to latch.
What is funny, I never had an issue with my doors. The memory wire activated vent only opens when the hatch is open so is of no help with the doors. They are some passive vents near the center/rear speakers.
As folks suggest perhaps it will get better with time. They told us that with the hatch but time didn't help! Hope it does for you. Others have posted the same issue, you're not alone.

I have a 2016 vert and it too has an issue with the doors closing. But by some odd chance, I tried the same thing one day with the latch on the inside of the door by pulling the door with that instead of putting my fingers on the outside part of the door and it has worked EVERY time!

It's raining very hard and GM wants me to lower both windows 3 inches just to be able to latch my rear hatch. Never heard that before. OR It's operating normally.

Had mine at the dealer for the same concern yesterday. My 2014 did NOT have this problem. My dealer says try adjusting the door latch, next step is the checking the interior pressure relief which is on the passenger rear. Involves taking the wheel off, wheel liner and the radio speaker. If I put the window down another 1/2-3/4", doors shut fine. Sure appears it is an air pressure problem. KJVETTE
