Anyone else have a problem with closing the doors on a 2016? I have read about the venting system being changed for 2016 so I don't know what method is being used now, but on my car it is as if there is no pressure relief when the doors are closed. It takes a much harder action to get the doors to close than on my C6. Both driver and passenger doors act the same. If I am in the car I sometimes lower the window a bit to keep from having to slam the door very hard. Any ideas?

Is window indexing working, if it is the window goes down about 5/8 of an inch, when the door is opened and stays there until you close the door then it goes up to the closed position, this allows easy door closing. Look in owners manual about indexing the windows then try re indexing them to see how that works.
Thanks for the tips. Yes the window indexing is working. That thought makes me realize that the problem is not lack of venting because the window is still down a bit as the door is closing. Perhaps it is simply stiff weather sealing that will loosen in time.

Still could be a venting issue as the small amount the window indexing provides is not significant. The latest bulletin from GM about hatch closing in 2014/2015's even with the memory wire activated vent open, says for a test, open both windows 3 inches! In 2014/2015 the memory wire vent (which is not in the 2016) does not operate when the hatch is closed. My hatch will not close without a door open and has not for the 22 months I've had it. However never had an issue with doors closing. Agree, you should wait a bit to see it the seals become more compliant. Might check with the windows open 3 inches and see if it significantly better.
There are other vents in the 2014/2015 behind the rear side speakers, see pic. Expect they are on the 2016 as well.
I bought my 2015 in May, and I also have this issue.
I picked up my 16 yesterday and it took 3 times to get the close correct. I will say this, I told the passenger not to slam the door so they were too soft on the attenpts. Regardless a little more umph... on the close is needed. Its not the end of the world you just need to be aware that you cant "soft close" the door.
Grab the little silver latch on the inside of the door frame. Seems to give better leverage and a very easy swing shuts the door every time. It looks like it could be greasy, but it's not. As a bonus, this method also keeps fingerprints off your doors...

Hit the nail on the head. i do exactly this and it works perfectly.
I just picked up my '16 and I've also noticed this issue. I wouldn't mind it so much it it wasn't for the fact that if i don't catch it getting out of the car then the car doesn't lock and the cabin lights stay on draining the battery. It's really only a matter of time before I come home exhausted don't notice the door didn't close fully and come back to a dead battery when I try to leave for work the next morning.
I'm going to the dealer for my 500 mile oil change tomorrow and planned to have them check the doors. I'll update with what I hear from them.
But if the car does not lock, arent you warned that the light is on?
Warned how? The car automatically locks when I walk away, the only warning I'd get is waiting around to see off the locks chirp which is a waste of time.
On my 14, if you walk away and a door is ajar or the rear hatch is not closed, it will not lock and arm under any circumstances. If I don't hear it chirp as I'm 15 feet or so walking away, I know a light is on , as door is ajar.
If I didn't have a car set to chirp, and had it on manual lock, I would know as I walked away and hit the button and I don't hear a chirp on the second push.
As a lot of others have said, give it a bit of time and it will get easier, my driver's side door closes a lot easier now than when new, my passenger door is still a bit more "difficult" since it isn't used as much

Even with the door ajar it times out after 10 minutes or so. I turned off all chirps, I don't like them and have found the door ajar a few times in my garage. Everything powers off, I've never had an issue.
Edit: +1 on using the silver door latch to close it. It gives you better leverage.

I noticed that my passengers that try closing the door (after they got out of the car) from the window rather than actual door area were not closing the door all the way. I instruct all passengers to close from the "silver" as my car is silver and that solved the issue. As far as closing the door once in the car, a "good pull" is all that is needed.
