I just traded in my F10 M5 for a torch red, adrenaline red interior, 7 speed 2016 Stingray Z51 2LT! It's a bitter sweet moment as i'll miss my 560hp beast, but at the same time I can't wait for the new vette to arrive!
I chose the magnetic ride suspension, tinted glass t top roof, upgrade black wheels, and navigation system!
I have set it up so that I place the order of my vehicle 2 months before spring of 2016, therefore I have time to modify my order.
I live in Canada and had a few questions about some of the options available.
1) Are there any *MUST HAVE* options that I'm currently missing?
2) I know the 2016 2LT should include the front parking cameras, however on Chevy's Canadian website I don't see it listed in that package...only on the 3LT package? Anyone know if they do infact come with the 2LT?
3) I was interested in the Z06 front grill (eliminating the horizontal chrome strip) but it wasn't listed on the dealer's option list. I have seen on reviews that this would be an available option for 2016, but does anyone have more information?
4) Finally, there are front and side skirts in a carbon flber material that I have seen online, but again we couldn't find it at the dealer while building my car. The closest thing I could find online is the molded front bumper?
To eliminate the front chrome bar, order EYT Carbon flash badge package. The Z06 grill you would have to do after if you wanted it, but with the cameras the swap is a little more involved (I think, not sure if I've seen it done come to think of it).
As for a ground effects package, you'd be much better off doing that after too, the GM package is really expensive, plus I'm not sure it's available for anything but the Z06.
What year was yours? I'll say this the quality of the BMW was obviously better. But for the price tag you will not get a better car then the corvette. Get ready for a lot of attention. I never got so many people waving, pointing, looking and wanting to see the car then with the corvette. The Corvette (I hope you got the seven speed) is way more fun to drive. Torch red. Is the color for sure. The BMW blended in and was a little boring honestly. Yea fast but on the fun meter well it was a 6.
Hey, I had a 2012 DCT (which looked boring to be honest) but you really needed skill to drive that car even with MDM on. Before I had the E64 m6 6 spd (V10) which was leaps more fun that this car.
For the vette I did get the 7 spd! Does the vette feel slower in a straight line? They are pretty close on paper...
The day I wanted the vette was when I first saw a torch red one driving. It looked like an exotic car which I had no clue what it was. Then I started reading the the reviews which were pretty damn good and here I am today! The only concern I had was regarding the quality given some of the major reported issues...I hope for 2016 they have worked most of them out!
I'm going to tint the windows dark to retain some privacy! But I have to say it's a damn good looking car!

Well right now its hard to tell I haven't really wound out the gears I have only 65 miles on my car right now so still breaking her in. I have a convertible not the coup, but i will say that the quality is on a scale of 1-10 probably a 7. The BMW was a 10. The corvette is a far cry from the 2006 C6 I owned regarding quality. I traded my 2013 M5 with 6500 miles on it. I really never enjoyed it like I probably should have and honestly regret getting it. should have went for the corvette right away.
I had a full day yesterday with my car and I will say that It is a blast. I will prob do some mod's on this one for sure I would like the HP to be in the 500 range for sure.
How many miles were on your 2012 when you sold it and what did you get for it as a trade price?

Yes, the 2016 2LT includes the front parking cameras, it's listed as standard equipment on my factory order.
I have a 2014 veto and looking to install the front parking cameras. The grill is easy to find and include the cameras. Harness, new 2016 screen and harness are hard to find.
Does any one know of someone who has done this conversion an also, the parts needed for the conversion/

Congrats!
Rooster OG, Swapping the Z06 front grill w/camera's is easy, plug & play. I recently did this on my 2016 3LT.
