Default Supplier Pricing Discount

I found out that the company where I worked is a "supplier" for GM and I'm able to get a supplier discount. I got the authorization code after I submitted the necessary info was told when I'm ready to buy, to bring the code with me to the dealer and that's that. The code expires in Feb '16, but I want to buy at the end of '16.

Do these supplier discount authorization codes get extended or do I simply re-apply for the discount when it's closer to buying time? I emailed GM twice and asked, but got no response.

Thank you.

Just request a new authorization code when you are ready to purchase.

After you purchase, remember to pass on the benefit to someone else that doesn't have supplier pricing.

Thanks for that, Zax. I was hoping that was the case.

My wife wants a new Cadillac, so we'll probably use it again in '17.

That is assuming that the large supplier discount will be available at the end of 2016. A lot of buyers assumed the large credit union discount would be available for 2016's but look what happened with it. Good luck!

Supply and demand will rule. Corvette sales slow....... all the discounts will come back.

Some forum dealers beat supplier discount anyways, so it isn't always the best deal.

Which forum dealers do that? That will be the dealer who gets the sale.

FWIW: GM got back to me and said the authorization code I have can be voided and I just re-apply for another. Also, CU discount can't be combined with supplier discount. Unless some forum dealers will do that, too ... hahaha

If you are looking to buy "at the end of 2016" you are already on a 2017 build.... wait until you are ready to buy, and then call the dealers about 3 months before that. If you are giving them a firm order, they will give you a good price, but they cannot quote a price this early.

I also wound up not using mine on my 2016, so if someone wants to us mine they can.

Be careful giving away these discount. They are issued to an individual and unique to his zip code and date of birth

I am getting a 10% discount from the dealer I have my order in with (sitting at 1100 status). Would the Supplier discount be more or less than 10% and is there any way to combine the discounts?

I bought my car for a price LOWER than the supplier discount ... but I told the dealer I can get a Supplier pin to save on Documentation fees .. So I gave them my pin and my fees for the entire deal was $75. They said they normally charge $499.

Supplier discount is dealer invoice + $200. Don't confuse that with dealer price that is posted for 2016 models elsewhere on this forum. I have yet to see 2016 dealer invoice numbers.

However, I just checked and you can go here and see the actual GM Supplier Discount price.

And it has the increased price that is reflective of the increased dealer price! I'm super glad I bought mine before the price increase. BIG difference...

It calculated out to 7% off MSRP for my build. I paid a LOT less than that! I'm also very glad I got in before the increase (pure luck).

I read a lot about the increase. How much of a difference are we talking? I suspect the price of the '17 models will increase as well.

For me I paid about $2K less than what I could get now with the dealer price increase.
