Corvette Comparison: Stingray VS Stingray
Here's why a modern C7 Corvette Stingray versus a classic Corvette Stingray is the best comparison you could ever ask for.

WOW looks wise its NOT a comparison,. C2 is A WORK OF ART..,

Hmmm. Work of art? I'm still thinking on that one. I was born in '61 so the Corvettes I saw on the road as a small person were generally C2's. But no one my family knew had one. They were well our of our league price wise and seemed exotic. So while I tend to agree with you, I have to think about: Is it really? Or is it just the nostalgia? Impossible to say.

c1s and c3s have nostalgia YET nothing CLOSE to c2s lines/agression/stance................

love you c7 and great combo(and vert) you have.,, Im not downing on the c7 I just cant see how the lines and shape of a c2 would be comparable with c7,. the c7 is a smooth sports cars that the lines work for performance., the c2 is ALL looks and No matter the age just sitting next to the c7 just OUTshines it by miles,. I only have c5 and c6, and will have c7z next couple of years,. so Its an UNbiased Opinion....

The C2 and the Jag E-Type are works of art that are still beautiful cars today. Up there with the best of that era.
I suspect the C7 will look more dated after 60 years than the C2 does today, because it's a trendier design. The C2 was unique and original. I would much rather drive a C7, however, and look at a C2.

Having had a '65 coupe that was very similar to the one in the video and a '15 base coupe...well there is one thing for certain. That is that the '15 is by far a better car. The C2 is a beautiful car, fun to drive and hot inside. A work of art? Sure, but the C7 is far more so. Flash back to 1965 and there are a bunch of cars that would fill the bill for work of art, as there are today, but Ferrari 265 GTO is still as good looking as a 358. And worth more. This does not hold true with the Stingrays of the past. Yea, the occasional '67 427 which has been restored will go for a 150g's but an un restored 265 is still untouchable.
But as this is a review of the Stingray none of that matters. Both cool cars and fun to own either one of them. Just give me the 2015.

I have a 66 BB and a 09 Z06. I bought both brand new. As much as I enjoy the Z06 I love the 66. Park them next to each other people are far more interested in the 66. It's a piece of history from the romantic muscle car era.
PS clock and radio both work.

Putting things in perspective (I hope)...
C2 was an amazing accomplishment a mere 10 yrs after a 6 cylinder powerglide automatic was introduced. Not only a rapid evolution in style but also in raw performance. From 375HP in 63 to the 430+HP L88 in 67. A fabulous run.
But then, just like music...what counts is individual taste and experiences. If you did not experience the new C2 as a teenager or young buyer you may wonder what's all the fuss about?

My 1966 (clock works) and my 2016 (no overheating yet). Both are Red/Red and both manual transmissions. That is where the similarity ends.
I enjoy both of them, but for different reasons. The 1966 is just classic. It's great for running though the gears but not so much for going around corners. The 2016 is a technological marvel which makes me appear to be a much better driver than I am.
