Guess my dealer did not get the memo. GM has to know they are doing this.
taking courtesy delivery from a local dealer in Florida that I bought from Kerbeck. $500 payable to the local dealer and they do everything on their pdi list. Florida dealers are higher but it sure beats paying $1300 for an inside truck transport delivery and saves allot of delivery time as well. Plus, it is where I will have the car serviced as well. They did a great job on my last vette.
I've contacted MacMulkin to determine if the PDI is indeed part of the delivery by the courtesy delivery dealership...
Common sense would be that GM reimburses the dealership that does it.
GM pays the delivering dealer to perform the PDI. I don't know the amount now, but it use to be $169(C6 days). The delivering dealer makes that money(to perform the PDI) in addition to the courtesy delivery charge that the they charge the customer.
Went with Tom Benson Chevy for courtesy delivery from MacMulkin and am happy with the results.
David Espinoza handled the delivery. His technical title is commercial/fleet/referrals manager.
They washed the car, did the PDI, installed the Z51 spoiler (which was shipped separately) and provided a full tank of gas and did a nice job.
David provided an introduction to the infotainment/climate system and helped me pair my phone, which would've taken me a while to figure out. I had already activated OnStar remote link on my phone shortly after the car was built to track it's delivery from the factory.
I've read over the manuals, but I've found the best way to learn these new gadgets is to just push all the buttons, see what they do and use them until they become second nature.
The window sticker and associated build sheets and tags were all nicely stowed in the glove box for my files.
I didn't keep the shipping cover...couldn't think of a real use for it.
Safety Inspection Stickers are no longer required, (nice to have less clutter on the windshield) but be sure to get a copy of the Vehicle Inspection Report (mine was pink) to take to the tax office to pay sales tax and pick up license plates. This is a 2 year inspection.
Congratulations, David did a lot more for you. My best experience at Benson was with the General Manager and Sales Manager, both were great with customer service.

You are correct. Mine had a full tank of gas. I also had over an hours worth of time with the Corvette sales person while sitting inside the car on the various aspects of each driving mode, driver information system, etc.
He also brought me in to meet the Corvette tech who performed the PDI.
For the next 6 months the Corvette sales person called me to ask if I had any problems or questions.
Here in Southern California the Courtesy dealers were asking $1000. The dealer I used was $500 and took care of all the taxes and registration paperwork.
