Please no B.S. Only want response from members that have had a Courtesy Delivery
Went to local dealer to see what services they were going to do with my C7. For $450 they would unwrap it and give me a gas card. Wanted to know if I wanted it washed and that's it. Not going over any options on the C7.
They do not make inspections, do not register and do not collect tax.
Don't me wrong, $450 is a saving from having to go to N.H. and driving back 2,000 miles.

I just thought the local dealer would do more.
Find another local dealer. At a minimum, they should gas it up, offer to wash it, complete the PDI checklist and give you a copy and offer to show you the basic features of the car. My first Corvette was courtesy delivery and they spent an hour showing me all the detailed features of the car and collected all my taxes and license fees and completed all the paperwork so I wouldn't have to wait in the DMV line.
You may think the car is easy to operate but based on many of the basic questions I see asked here on the forum, a quick dealer tutorial would answer many of them.
They took me to a gas station 100 yards down the road and filled it up. They also did an inspection on it.
Other than that I did not have them wash it. Not sure who you went through, but mine was delivered to Tom Benson chevy in sa. And since you bought yours from the same company, I assume that's where they want you to go to also.
Truthfully, I knew more about the car that most salesman probably do. Read the manual online and figure it out yourself, it's not hard honestly. Just takes a little hands on.
As for the courtesy delivery, my advice is have them unpack it and toss you the keys.
Overall, wasn't impressed with the courtesy delivery, but didn't want anything but my car off their lot anyhow. So it was all good.
Oh and P.S. Bring exact change, dude didn't even offer me that when I brought $460 cash. I let it go and just got the
hell out of there.
Also, my car was at the dealer in less than 24 hours after leaving bowling green, so plan accordingly. Left BG at 4:00pm, was a the dealer at like 7:00am the next day.

Yes, same dealer. Thank you, I will ask for the keys, get the gas and take home to wash.

I only paid $98 for courtesy delivery. I ordered from MacMulkin and they arranged for courtesy delivery at a dealership in Pearland TX, about 12 miles from my house. I was originally quoted $150 but when I picked up the car, they asked me if I want someone to come out and show me how to work all of the features? I declined and said that I could figure it out myself. So my bill ended up at only $98! I was in and out of the dealership within 15 minutes.
My courtesy delivery, brokered by MacMulkin, added $350 to the total price. The vehicle was shipped to a local dealer (12 minutes away), and was prepped; but not filled with gas. The $350 charge was the cheapest way to ship the car all the way across the country to WA state.
Hey Alamo1974,
FYI
I asked my NH dealer to seek courtesy delivery to the San Antonio area dealers...
Freedom Chevrolet does NOT do courtesy deliveries
Cavender charges $500 but offers no gas or anything else.
Gunn did not respond at all.
I am going with Tom Benson.
My wife and I visited with their shop and met with David Espinoza. Nice guy.
They will do the PDI and take me to the gas station across the street and pay for the first fill up.
It will be $450, a bit steep for what they will be doing, but like you said, cheaper than shipping or driving round trip from New Hampshire.
I will receive a 20 day paper plate from the selling dealer and take the MSO to the county to pay the sales tax and get my title, no biggie.
They honor the free oil changes using Mobil 1.
It is also the closest dealer to Expel so I will drive it directly over there BEFORE it gets any rock chips on the way home.
Sanantguy, did you get a copy of your PDI sheets?
Alamo1974, my TPW is 9/14...what's yours?

No idea what PDI sheets are. But I got all sorts of sheets that came with the car from the manufacture process, if that is what you mean.
Espinoza isn't the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree, but did his job well enough. Which was basically nonexistent when it comes to a courtesy delivery.
Oh and put the temporary plate on yourself. I about choked him out when he took what was on the car off, and rested the stuff on top of the back of the car.

Thanks for posting that link Zymurgy...I couldn't put my hands on it...
Hey Santantguy,
Who will be doing your oil changes?
Honestly, expect very little from the courtesy dealer. Just let them unpack it and hand you the keys. Get it out of there as fast as possible and go on your way.
I'll be doing my own oil changes. But if I wanted to bring it to a dealer, I'd go to the one on 10 in boerne.
I took courtesy delivery last October and they inspected and filed all registration paperwork and only cost me $148. This was at Strickland Chevrolet in Pearland, Texas. My purchase dealer (MacMulkin) recommended them.
PDI is Pre Delivery Inspection...two pages of items the delivering dealer checks before releasing the car.
Yikes, I don't like anyone putting anything on my vehicles...it is not a desk...I'll be on my guard.
I think it's great they have official PDI forms. However, that means exactly nothing. Whether they actually do those things or just check the box.............you'll never know.
I personally take the precaution to check everything myself. I would rather assume that someone else did not do their job correctly than just assume it's all good.

Great you want to expel the car. But you'll want it washed at least twice initially before having that done. Mine was not completely filthy, but needed some attention after delivery.

I ordered my from MacMulkin for Courtesy Delivery to Ed Morse Chevrolet in Sunrise, Fl. The $400.00 fee included a dirty car at pick up, an empty gas tank and for an additional $100.00 they would give me an orientation of the C7. I did not pay for the orientation. Plus they wanted my future business for servicing the C7. I laughed all the way to another Chevy dealership who would treat me with dignity.
