80K Base Car

80K Base Car
Looked in the showroom while my C7 was in for oil change. On the floor was a white coupe for $80K MSRP. Interesting thing - no performance items of any kind. Just 3LT ++++. Truly a boulevard cruiser.

This car is clearly a "To each their own" type of vehical.
The range on price is insane, from low 50s to low 90s. 40k!
I could never see a reason to go over the 2LT zone, but I don't value extra fancy leather as much as I do the cool do-dads, gizmos and go-fast stuff. For me the car caps at about 65k MSRP before it starts to look like a bad deal.

$80K is way more than I will ever be willing to pay for a car.

You know, I got a 2015 base 3LT, but I paid much less for it. My sticker price was in the low 70s, but with supplier pricing, it was about 66K.
80s level sounds awfully high...

the sticker price on my ordered Vette is almost 85K…if i'm gonna do it I'm gonna do it right with all the bells and whistles. I do have the GM family first discount though..

Capitalism is wonderful isn't it? We paid sticker for ours in November 2013 and we love it! Toured most of Route 66 in it in 2014 and it was one of the most rewarding automotive adventures we have ever had. It was a hit all along the route. We plan on doing it again as a club ride. We are eagerly awaiting the new announcements regarding the C7 at the Bash. Perhaps a GS or some other new variant to keep sales up?

A little more and you could just get a Z06. There is a certain acceptable level of price/value vs. options, but at some point it becomes excessive IMO. Ultimately, I guess the cost does't matter if the buyer is happy...

EXACTLY like on the used car market anyone really cares or knows the difference. I have a 1LT in black no one has ever looked in my car and said ewww this is only a 1 LT? No one knows the difference.

I have to laugh when anyone refers to any newer model Corvette as a boulevard cruiser.

This isn't totally off topic, but I was just wondering what kind of deals are there to be had for C7's now that they've been out? The 6th gen Camaro looks like a very nice car that was greatly improved over the last gen and I had my eye on it. But with it's price increase, I was wondering if a C7 can be had for not that much more?
