I keep hearing this talk about the mid engine Zora. A friend of mine even supplied and article that GM is going to introduce them as a 2017 model. Is there any way to verify whether any of this is true or just a lot of speculation.

Just speculation at this point.

There has been talk of a mid engined Corvette since the mid 60's. Don't hold you breath!

Give the OP a break, will ya'? Just asked a civil question... it deserves a civil answer. Probably won't happen in '17, or '18. This is a question that is asked every moth or so and is quite often beat to death. There has been talk of this for years and it may happen but the plant is not set up to produce a mid engine car. There would have to be some major reworking of assembly to accomplish this feat. Not to mention a huge influx of moneys for new equipment.
There has not been any leaks of this happening in B.G. as of yet, and it will take a considerable amount of time to work out the logistics of this. Enough so that it would be almost impossible to hide the fact that it was going to happen.
With the ever constricting CAFE regulations there will have to be some major engineering of the Corvette to meet these, so in the near future there may be a car produced that is mid engine, and more than likely it would be a joint effort. Say between Chevy and Caddy.
Or maybe between Ford and GM...they have been known to work together before on the development of engineering.
So, the real answer, in my opinion, which is not worth much, is who knows?
