Default Air turns on when car is off

Notice sometimes when I turn my car off then come back the air is running. It's running down my batt. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

"the air is running". Sorry, not descriptive enough. Are you talking about the radiator fan? If so, that is normal.

If you mean the A/C, that can't run with the engine off. If the interior fan is running with the car off, something's definitely wrong.

Not true. The C6 and C7 cars will turn it on occasionally to control humidity as I have had it explained. You will hear the fan run, and it is perfectly normal.

Check with Rich Willhoff at Abel Chevrolet if you need validation. It tripped me out the first time I encountered it.

I'm not saying you're wrong, cause i really have no clue, but can you find in the manual (or anywhere for that matter) where this is explained? That fan running with engine off would KILL the battery quickly IMO...

And please don't say your dealer told you cause we all know dealers know jack about cars...

AC won't work unless the engine is on to run the compressor. Running the climate control fan without the AC on won't do anything to "control humidity".

More specific the ac turns on but is only blowing hot air like at full speed. Luckily I have caught it several times by checking on it. It's coming from inside ac vent not the outside

Never say never.

A search of the forum for "Afterblow" reveals there is a setting for this.

Fan maybe, but not A/C. If the engine's not turning, neither is the compressor, so no A/C. There IS an auto-defrost setting that will allow the car to turn the A/C and fan on when needed, but only if the engine is running.

To repeat: The A/C cannot run if the engine is off.

Again, that is FAN, not A/C. I can't say it never happens, but it certainly hasn't happened on mine.

OP said AIR not A/C. Not sure why you are stuck on that.

A "FAN" blows "AIR".

I was referring to this sentence:

...And according to GM, running the fan will kill the bacteria that causes the smell. (To further clarify, I am making the assumption that the person who wrote "control humidity" was really thinking "control condensation/mildew")
