My 15 will flicker and go black occasionally, I found that the connector to the HMI unit in the driver side kick panel gets loose, just reach in and reseat the connector and it is good for a few months, dealer replaced the screen once only to have it start flickering the next day, that's when I started to check the connectors and that seems to be the problem.

Found solution. You have to replace screen. Good part is that theirs a video online how to remove front dash and its the same steps for the screen. If anyone needs help replacing it near NYC let me know. Have done it 3 times already. It's about a hour to replace.

Do most of the folks with screen problems open and close the compartment often? I rarely open mine for this reason.

I don't think it has anything to do with that. The connecters are held really good. I did not open mine often and still had to replace the screen.

After replacing the screen they discovered the cord hooked to the screen was the problem. Dealer replaced cord and everything fine after 3 years now.i

l have limited the amount of time I use this feature in my car. The way it's designed eventually its bound to fail and hopefully I can delay the inevitable.

There are two main failure modes resulting in flickering or black infotainment screen display. If you have a 2014 or possibly a 2015, it is likely that the screen needs to be replaced as they had a documented problem. If you have a more recent, it is most likely a loose video connector. Using the screen up/down might cause the video cable connection problem but that was not the cause of mine since mine went black within 24 hours of purchasing the car. Just a bad connection at the display from the factory. Easy fix.

Adrian thank you for your post. I have a 2014 LT1 10,700 miles with the same problem.
I need to replace the screen. Does the new screen start working when you install it
without any additional electrical work ?
Thanks,
Philip

Yes, don't matter which screen part number you get. Try to get it from a 2016+ vette on eBay. You don't need to do any programing. Its just the screen The computer that controls it is separate.

Agreed. They should make this thread sticky. Too many threads on this subject with no solution.

iPhone 7? You must not be drinking the Apple Kool-Aid.

Solution: Android phone
