Screen was replaced (or at least that is what the dealer said) about a year ago and it has been perfect until last night. Got home and pulling into the garage the screen went black. Turned the car off and restarted and the screen came back on then started flickering then went black again within seconds.
I thought fixing something like that would fix it for good. Sigh, looks like its back to the dealer.
This morning it screen was back to normal and didn't flicker a bit in the way to work. Only odd thing is the radio was on the Sirius default preview station even though the radio was tuned to some FM station. When I changed the station and went back to the same FM station the Sirius feed was gone.
Crossing my fingers that the black outs were a one-time anomaly.
My '15 with 6K on the clock started to do it about a week ago. Opening and closing the screen seems to cure the problem for a while. Does anybody know what really causes the problem?
My screen went blank a couple of months ago, if I touched the blank screen in the right place the station would change, Bluetooth would not work. Dealer replaced the screen, all was good till a couple of days ago, started the car and screen was blank. Went straight to the dealer and they worked on it for three hours. Seems the problem was a bad connection at the HMI module. According to the invoice grease was applied to all connectors and all is good. The screen seems brighter to me now, time will tell if this is the fix.
All good things right! Screen lasted what, several months! Doing same thing. They reprogrammed, re-flashed and replaced screen. I'm thinking that this will never be repaired for good, so I want to fix it myself.I've already replaced dash so that part is no biggie. Here's my question and main reason for post. Does anyone know how much a screen and the wire cost and where I can get it other than dealer? Do they make an aftermarket one perhaps? thank you
I'm at 31314 miles so warranty running out

If you have a warranty still, why pay yourself?
There was a thread on this forum where the poster listed the company and contact information for the people that refurbish the screens. Much cheaper than GM new. I believe the ribbon cable is the issue and they can fix that. But it is same exact GM screen.
I thought I saved the post but am sorry but I could not find it.

My old thread back from the dead... I never followed up on my problem. The dealer wound up replacing what he called the center stack under warranty back in 2015. What that includes I don't know. Been fine since then. Only difference is before I hid my garage door opener behind the screen so I opened and closed the screen at least twice a day. After the replacement I put the opener in a different place so I rarely open the screen. Maybe not opening the screen so often helps?
