The guy in the red truck probably just wanted to make sure one side of his truck was safe..

That was my first thought. Otherwise, so what! Just park it. It's just a car.

I don't see the problem either if both vehicles were within the lines and it was easy to get in/out of the vehicles. He has as much right to park there as you do.

I don't have as much of an issue if they allow plenty of space, but it's like the urinals in the men's room. If there are 10 in a row...Do you take the one next to the guy already there or do you leave a few spaces and then take one. There's something wrong with the guy who takes the one right next to you. lol

I agree the other guy could park there if he wanted to. That's not the point. If I were second one in to an almost empty lot I would never park next to the only other vehicle in the lot, Corvette, Porsche, Ferrari, or whatever. It's just common sense. However people do it all the time. Like when we go to a restaurant and the hostess puts us right next to an occupied table when there are 25 empty ones all over. What gives? People, use some common sense and logic. You will go far.

Thanks for the common sense illustration. Can't believe there are folks posting "it's no big deal" remarks as if the OP is out of touch. Just looking at the picture (with all the other possible parking spots the truck could have taken) would rattle most of us that take the time to park far away to avoid dings and the nitwits that seem to enjoy giving them.

Oh, I could tell some stories, which did result in some damage, but I will leave this picture. I'm in the end spot, BTW (the black car is driving in the aisle).

WHY did this ambulance have to park next to me? Oh, there is a light standard on the right of the pic (just out of the frame). He had to park between me and the light? He pulled in after me and literally took up four spaces. I had to track him down and have him move it forward about 12 inches so I could open my door. He wondered why it was a big deal.

I guess he thought I should have hopped over the door into the seat, and that lunch at Panera counted as an emergency.

I don't think some people do it to be mean, just think about it differently than we do

So you know, it's important to group people for the sake of the wait staff.. Food temp and attentive service is easier when people are together

I think it's best to assume mediocrity from others (and ourselves)

People do this because they are *******s, either intentional *******s or just thoughtless *******s.

I think as long as you dont
double park or try and take up multiple spots like an ***hole then you have a higher chance of people not targeting or messing with your car

Some pickup trucks in my community in Texas costs more than my C7.

He's probably says the same thing:
What's that POS vette doing next to my King Ranch Truck?

One more point, I think some people actually do it to get a better look at our cars.

I guess for me, it just isn't worth getting all worked up over anymore. I may have been more worried about this kind of stuff when I owned my 1st Corvette, but I can't remember being that concerned. Life is too short to sweat the small stuff. I just enjoy my car and try and take care of whatever is in my control.

Some interesting and different takes on the subject.

Regarding wanting to look at the car? I will certainly go and look at an exotic or some other very interesting car but I wouldn't park near it to do so. Don

Yes; I would also but we are car people, most people are not.

an actual universal truth that every corvette owner has experienced.
most recent encounter was pulling into the empty parking lot of a closed post office and my wife was about to exit the car but had to wait as a guy pulled in next to us!!!
