OK, picked up my 2016 Vette a week ago and traved out of state to find the one I wanted. The salesman did not know much about setting things up, so i have a couple of questions, before i take it in for the 500 mile oil change. 1. I can only get 1 row of radio stations to program in the memory or display at the bottom, any ideas on how to do this. 2 on my C6 the doors locked after you got out of the car, but i have to lock these with the FOB, or the doors stay unlocked, again any tips. Yes I tried reading the manuel but it is tough for an old gut to understand. Starting to regret buying it so far from home. Thanks for any help!!

In reference to the stations, hold your finger on one of the presets you see and drag upwards. This will display additional rows.

The door lock settings can be adjusted in the menu by going to settings.

if the 16 is like my 14, getting the 2nd+ row of buttons to appear/disappear is more of an art than a science. seems like most days, if the moon isnt aligned with saturn and my fingers aren't touching just so, it wont.

Once you swipe the row of buttons to the next row and select the presets that you use most often (you can have up to 60 presets by the way, adjustable in the settings) you can then select your presets by using the steering wheel controls and not have to swipe if you don't want to.

The easiest way to drag up the presets bar is to press the center of the top of the bar and drag up while lifting toward the end of the lift. In that order.

This only works if you have two or more little button marks above the presets bar. Frankly, it's easier to swipe from the right end and drag left and lift your finger away from the screen. In that order.

To have the doors lock automatically... Settings > Vehicle > Remote Lock, Unlock, Start > Passive Door Lock > choices are Off, On with Horn Chirp or On.

Favorites... Settings > Radio > Number of Favorites Shown > choices are 5, 10, 15, through 60.

Also, Favorites can be used to store more than Radio Stations. For example, Destination Locations, Tone Settings, Contacts, etc.

When you take the car in for the 500 mile oil change would be a good time to get the service tech to go over the settings and radio issues you have not been able to work through by then. That is what I did. My sales guy was nice and tried to help but he only had surface level knowledge of the features. I found some helpful videos on the Chevy site and by googling particular C7 features.

The big thing to remember is that this is not a capacitive display.

See here for a description of the different types of touch screens:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Touchscreen

A capacitive screen relies on the fact that your skin is a conductor
"The human body is also an electrical conductor, touching the surface of the screen results in a distortion of the screen's electrostatic field, measurable as a change in capacitance". Any smart phone or tablet sold today will have a capacitive touch screen. So that's what most people are used to, including me. So it took me a while to get used to the idea that the car's touch screen works differently.

The big difference is that a capacitive screen like a smart phone is truly a "touch" screen in that merely touching it has the desired effect. The car's screen could be better described (in my opinion - this is not a technical term) as a "press" screen. It actually requires pressure from your finger rather than simply a touch. Once I got used to that idea, it worked a lot better for me. Its my belief that many of the people having problems making it work or say it isn't responsive enough, may not have adapted to this idea.

While capacitive screens generally work well for phones and tablets, try using your smart phone with gloves on sometime. A car's screen generally needs to have the capability to operate even with gloves (yes I know you Florida guys probably don't care). For me I also find that requiring pressure to work can be an advantage when driving if the car is bouncing around on a rough road etc.

All that said, apparently Cadillacs do use a capacitive screen while Chevys don't. There are pros and cons to both approaches.

See this youtube video which is not Corvette specific but is a general description of the 2014 version of MyLink.

Regarding 500 mile oil change .... do you have a base C7 ? Because if youhave the base car
I do not think a 500 mile change is required ?

Correct. The 500 miles free oil change only applies to dry sump configurations -- the Z51 option or the Z06.
