My 2016 all black coupe's paint is also fantastic everywhere except that the two doors could be a little better, however, that being said I wonder if the doors were to be horizontal when going through the paint process as the other panels do, would that help to eliminate the orange peel. My Stingray was built on 9/11/15, perhaps the plant was feeling a bit more patriotic that day. Roof, hood, hatch, fenders, quarters, and especially the fascias are very nice. During the plant tour one of the first stations we encountered were the front and rear fascias being polished by plant workers and all looked outstanding. Sorry for those who are not happy, perhaps it is the luck of the draw.
Front and rear bumpers were never an issue glad yours is one of the few good ones your lucky
From the get-go I have been very lucky with this car. I ordered it middle of July from an L.A. dealer that has been in business less than 1 year. My dealings were only with the GM. I emailed him what i wanted, he emailed me back an oder, and that was that. No deposit required. Z51 was on a 50% constraint. Eventually I received a TPW of 10/12, which was moved up to 10/5. The car was built on 10/6 (a Tuesday!) and shipped on 10/8. Around 10/14 I received a call from my dealer telling me the car would be in on 10/24. Two days ago, 10/19 my dealer called and said the car was there. Picked it up yesterday. No orange peel!
Just took delivery of my'16 triple black Sting Ray convertible. There is zero orange peel. The paint is as flawless as was the paint on my '13 Porsche that I traded in in the Vette. Pics to follow on the weekend.
Hey RonnieC6Z I think you car was made about the same date my black Z06 was made started production 10/2 came off the line 10/5 if it was I may know why!
Nothing has changed, doesn't mater if it's a 2014, 2015 or 2016.
When every C7 comes off the line with no OP then we'll know they fixed the problem. Until then there will continue to be inconsistent paint jobs, some better some worse.

Excited to see close up pictures of the great paint job!!!
Exactly. These folks don't recognize orange peel when they see it apparently. It is impossible to paint a car without a little orange peel unless it is wet sanded and buffed.
My 2016's paint (shark grey) is pretty decent along the top sections, but the lower panels have noticeably more orange peel. That said, I wouldn't call it atrocious. I've certainly had cars with better paint jobs, however. Should it be better, especially for the money? Yes.
