Just took delivery of my'16 triple black Sting Ray convertible. There is zero orange peel. The paint is as flawless as was the paint on my '13 Porsche that I traded in in the Vette. Pics to follow on the weekend.

do not drive it ... Put it away... As you have a very unique
vette ...should be worth a fortune some day ...as good paint is very rare ....
I finally got my Stingray after waiting three and one half months from the date I ordered it. I was told “be patient-it’s worth the wait” and “It’s better to have it done right than to rush it out and it not look as good.” Well, it was worth the wait but it does not look as good. What a thrill it is to drive! This Corvette is everything I expected it to be with one exception, the paint quality. The orange peel is horrific. Someone made a comment “look how smooth the hood is compared to the fenders.” A Corvette shouldn’t have such a poor paint job. I’m very disappointed about the noticeable amount of orange peel onthe fenders and doors. This is my fourth Corvette and it is the best Corvette with the worst paint quality. I’m sure it is correctable. But why should it be correctable at an additional expense to me? A beautiful 2016 Long Beach Red Metallic Tintcoat Corvette Stingray with an MSRP of $84,935.00 should have apaint job at least as orange peel free as my wife’s 2013 Black Diamond Tricoat Cadillac ATS Premium with an MSRP of $55,335.00? I love my Stingray. I don’t love my Stingray’s paint job on the fenders and doors. Plant Manager Kai Spande and anyone who might be involved with paint quality should be ashamed.

I hope the salesman did not have a straight face when he said that absurd remark-
My 2016 all black coupe's paint is also fantastic everywhere except that the two doors could be a little better, however, that being said I wonder if the doors were to be horizontal when going through the paint process as the other panels do, would that help to eliminate the orange peel. My Stingray was built on 9/11/15, perhaps the plant was feeling a bit more patriotic that day. Roof, hood, hatch, fenders, quarters, and especially the fascias are very nice. During the plant tour one of the first stations we encountered were the front and rear fascias being polished by plant workers and all looked outstanding. Sorry for those who are not happy, perhaps it is the luck of the draw.
My SGM was built 9-14-15 and the paint looks beautiful.
My black 04 Silverado still has very nice paint for 11 years old, but does have noticeable orange peel on the doors.
