I wish they had the option for the two tone seats with suede when i ordered, that or there was an issue with getting them in the comp seat, I forget.
It's my understanding that it's not suede, though many people call it that because it feels like suede. It's Alcantara. As per Wikipedia:

I wanted the two tone seats with micro fiber inserts on competition seats but I could not order that with the color override (I have a Blue Z51 3LT with Adrenalin Red interior). But unlike the two tone seats I've seen where it's black and red, I'd rather red leather and a couple of shades darker red for the inserts. Haven't see that at all.
I knew I'd get abused for my post, let me just say YES YES, I want 68% polyester seats in a $75k car! It was only leather for me in my C7 & SLK. If its not a dead animal I am sitting on, it's not high end.
As Mercedes says: The best or nothing. But to each their own.
Personal Opinion, I understand why GM did it this way...but It would have looked much better to have the suede insert RED and the outer leather BLACK on the seats. Though I wouldn't want Red suede on the wheel.
With currently available choices, I'd go with the black/black suede with red stitch.

My $103K Corvette has the 68% polyester opton on the comp seats because they work better than the "high end" fully plastic coated "leather" seats for keeping you planted in the corners.
