Default Two-tone with suede inserts

Hi all,
I'll be placing my order soon and I'm thinking about getting red and black two-tone with suede inserts on the seats and suede stearing wheel and shifter/boot. All with red stitching. Would anybody with these options be willing to share pics? Especially of the seats.
My other option is all black with suede and red stitching like this one.

Thanks,
Marc

I know I will get abused for saying this, but suede on a steering wheel is the LAST thing I would ever consider. Over a short period of time you will have compression marks from gripping the wheel and the natural oils in the skin of your hands will be in it too over time.

Similarly, the seats will be a pain to keep looking nice compared to leather. I got the two tone red/black leather and love it. Its your choice, but you should start the thread now "How do I get the suede steeling wheel to look like the day I got it?"

I agree about the suede on the steering wheel, but on the seats it seems to hold up pretty well.

Hey that's my car!

I wish they had the option for the two tone seats with suede when i ordered, that or there was an issue with getting them in the comp seat, I forget.

What makes you think they wouldn't water proof the wheel to protect it from oils? In the hundreds of thousands of hours of testing they do on these cars do you really think they wouldn't come up with such a simple solution to protect the wheel as to just spray a hydrophobic solution on it? Something teens have been doing to their seude shoes for years? Do you think Lamborgini, Ferrari, etc etc that use suede wheels for all of their higher trim levels would choose this if the wheels all looked like **** after a short bit of use?

Having the suede wheel on my car I can say 1) it looks stuning, far better than the plain leather wheel 2) It feels way better in your hands than any leather wrapped wheel I have held 3) it provides excellent grip when corning due to the textured nature of it.

Thanks efarly, for your support and sharing your amazing interior!
I never asked for anybody's "opinion" about how the suede will hold up but you know how that goes....

So does anybody have the two-tone red/black with suede?
Thanks,
Marc

I ordered the two tone red leather with black suede on my 3LT z51 Torch Red coupe with adrenaline red interior. It is being built right now and is due to be ready the first of next week. I'm taking museum delivery so if you want to see mine, I can let you know what day it will be in the museum and when I take delivery I can open the door for you to see the seats. That and I can post pics after I get her home. Funny thing is ... I ordered that interior combination without ever seeing those exact seats myself. They are new for 2016 and my dealer said he's hasn't seen them yet. I think they will be amazing and on warm day, that micro suede is going to be much less painful to sit on than the black leather would be. And with the 3LT i will have a micro suede upper (pillars and headlliner) so i think it will go with those as well. I didn't order a suede steering wheel (hoping that doesn't come with the two-tone seats by default and i missed that tidbit of info.) I don't like the idea of suede on the steering wheel. I don't think it would hold up well over time between sun exposure, oils in my hands darkening the spots I grip and it possibly drying out over time. Some people might like the soft feel but I think the sued steering wheel looks cheap personally. Let me know if you want to see mine. I should be taking deliver in two weeks or so. Good luck, whatever you choose I know you'll love it. How can you not!?!

Yours does have the suede wheel, I'm willing to bet once you get it you'll fall in love. No need to worry about durability, those are only issue with cheep fake suedes. The high end automotive suede is very resistant to all of the things you mentioned.

Default Looks fantastic

I've seen it and it looks fantastic. Sadly, I could no go that route. I wanted the black surround with red inserts as I had on my C6. Also, because of knee/hip issues I need seats that I won't stick to so to speak when getting out/in.

For 2016 my dealer showed me pics of seats with black leather side bolsters with red suede center inserts. They weren't very good pics as the red looked like leather instead of suede. That's why I was hoping to see more.

I had the sueded microfiber on my 2014 and drove it for 18 months, with a total of 14k miles. The shifter and wheel never showed any wear at all. the material isn't really suede, it is a microfiber and the length of the nap on the wheel and shifter is very short. It can't really be "brushed" one way or the other like the seats can.

On the seats I had no issues other than if the material looked like it was brushed the wrong way in spots, but just running your hand over it fixed it instantly. Benefit of the MF seats is the heaters and ventilation work much better and faster than the full leather seats as well as helping you to not slide around in spirited driving.

I do admit that I don't do anything like eat in the car, just bottled water. I guess if you are one of the types that eats fast food in the car or you never wash your hands it would be like you mention and you would be spending hours to clean it.

With the suede inserts it will invert the red and black on the seats. I have not seen one in person just yet but this is taken from the "2016 Corvette - Whats New" brochure from a while back.

Either way it will look great, I hope this helps out and please do post pictures if you end up getting the suede and two-tone red.

Had the alcantera on my CTS-V and after 38k miles it still looked good. Microfiber can easily be cleaned with soapy water and a microfiber towel. So far the alcantera on my C7 seats looks the same as day one, but the car only has 7k.

Overall, the seats and wheel will have more grip, especially with gloves. I find the leather a little slippery at times and have considered swapping it out along with the shifter.

Actually, I did some more research and it appears that the microfiber steering wheel and microfiber shift boot only come on 3LT cars equipped with the competition two tone seats. If you get the GT seats you get the standard leather steering wheel and boot. I'm glad because I just didn't like the look of the suede steering wheel. My dealer said my interior is going to be super rare. Probably less than 5% of all vettes made rare. So I like that too. Can't wait!!

To get the microfiber wheel and shifter you need comp seats with MF inserts and 2/3 LT/LZ.

I had a 2LT Z51 with them and now have a 2LZ Z06/Z07 with them.

Interesting. I'm seeing other posts saying the 2LT/LZ doesn't get the suede steering wheel as its only part of the Napa leather and suede competition combo. Not the Mulan leather and micro suede combo. Either way it doesn't affect me as I'm sticking with the GT seat.

On my 2LT with black interior and suede inserts on the GT seats I got the shifter/boot in suede but the wheel was left to choice and I got the leather wheel
