Received my splash guards from Gene the other day. Unbelievable, I'd like to know why GM didn't put these on at the factory. It would not have cost them $,25 more per car. As it is, I paid over $100 to replace the oem that are basically the same piece with about 1/2 inch less plastic to protect the fenders.
BTW, it's a 10 minute job to do the replacement, and I'm glad I did.
Simple answer is that GM could sell them as accessories for $106 or so as that is what I paid the dealer when I picked up my car.

Hmm! Many pics posted for 2 years but I'll add this pic to say they are effective in the rear but do little for the rocker panels! Just look at where GM puts that heavy plastic! No way those small Splash Guards can help from the center of the door back to the rear wheel opening. Even after I installed front and rear, soon after I got my C7 two years ago, the plastic was still getting marked from pebbles. Installed side skirts and stopped all marks. Was able to remove the beat-up GM plastic! Have had for 1 1/2 years- rocker panels look new!

Rear Splash Guards Work, Front Not Effective to Protect Rocker Panels
I'm almost positive they aren't on the car by default because of aerodynamics. The designers have a coefficient of drag number they are shooting for and work to get it by changing the shape of everything and covering gaps. They have to balance weight and performance benefits.
One area I was surprised to read about during the development of the C7 was the move to smaller width tires. They were all proud of Michelin for getting them narrower tiers with the same grip. These tires let them get a better Cd number which means to me that whenever you upgrade your tire size you lower your aero ability.
I ordered the ACS extended for the front and Color matched OEM for the rear.
Everytime I look at my car I wondedr why do I need the rear.
I dont think I will install them when they arrive.
What is the purpose of the rear splash guard? The rear of the car tapers off and I doubt that even a burnout would caause the rear to catch any debris.
For every owner that wishes Chevy had put them on at the factory, there would be another owner who hates the way they stick out past the fenders and wants to remove them.
