I like Ken's suggestion about using mothballs. I also place rodent poison trays around the car. Suffice to say, I have never had an issue with either rodents nor my ex wife gnawing on the wiring or trying to nest in the cabin air filter. Ymmv ......................

In Central Pennsylvania there seldom is the need for long term storage (even last year the car sat only two months, snowed an inch or two every other day). I use winter time to clean up the car. Takes a few days to accomplish since I just do a little at a time. When spring comes I get to slop it up again!
