Default So my transmission blew up today....

Driving along and the car starts jerking im thinking bad gas. I look and the "D" is flashing so I decide I better get it home never made it trans started squealing like a pig pulled over couldn't even move the shift lever out of drive. It had to be dragged onto the flat bed rear wheels were locked.

Before I give any advice or comment, I'd like a Moderator or Admin to confirm the IP address of this post and check it to insure that this isn't ANOTHER new ID from the same guy that has been trolling the board.

Not like the old days when you could get under it and release the gear shift I guess...that sucks.

What year, how many miles, is your tranny an A8? My 2015 A8 with 11k miles is shuddering bad and I have an appointment at the dealer this week.

Thought you were not supposed to drive your 'dangerous' A8 for months now.
The drama continues....Mr. Black&White and whatever else username you keep changing to.

Dang, gotta use that 'ignore' feature again!

Wow.

C6 with valve issues.

C7s with transmission issues.

GM needs to get their head out of their asses and stop producing garbage cars. I'd be PISSED!!!!

Get a case number from GM and demand a new transmission. Dealers do not have good experience in repairing transmissions. GM needs to overnight new transmission to the dealer and have them install it.

Is this the same transmission you were having trouble with a month ago or so, or is this the second one to go bad for you?

I have not had much trouble with it before, just some rough down shifts now and again.

Agree Agree Agree!!!!!

I had a bad synchro in my 08, grinding going into R, dealer ripped it apart fixed the R problem but screwed up my 3 and 4.

They tried 3 times to fix it. Car was in the shop for 6 months. I was making an $800 payment to drive an Impala. Finally hired a lawyer. Bad bad bad experience. I agree, demand a new transmission. And don't wait too long, lemon law only applies for first year of ownership usually (just in case).

And its not that it's impossible to repair a transmission. The dealers "mechanics" (I use the term loosely) just don't know how.

Correct. It's been my understanding for a long time that dealers don't fix transmissions, they only replace them.

Dealers dont like fixing cars. They sell, make money and move on to the next sale.

Demand a new transmission from GM.

Funny people that abuse and drive the crap out of the C7s have zero issues with it.

How many miles in your A8?
