Default Interesting 1st post in the C7 forum

I was wondering what the first post in the C7 forum was. Interesting picture of the C7 concept by GM back in 2008. Never saw this one before and thought some of you might also enjoy the picture:

Edited: Okay as I read on it was pointed out that this was a bogus picture and not from GM. But it is still interesting to look back at the history of this forum.

That was an interesting read. Glad GM designed the car different than the one shown in that post though.

Thanks, I hadn't seen that first post. Thank goodness GM did not go with that design. The two best things they did to the C7 was to get rid of the round tail lights and get rid of the basket handle. Once released from those albatrosses, they were free to truly transform the car into something special.

Don't think that design was enough to turn my head. The C7 they came up with did and almost broke my neck!

I was expecting to see that silver car that was going around before the real C7 pics leaked.

There was a lot of anticipation and guessing back then. I recall when seeing the Jalopnick picture, I thought it was horrible.... even when i saw the pictures of the actual car, i was not happy with it.

Well, once i saw the car in real life, my opinion started to change and like a fine wine, it kept growing on me over time.... I'm taking delivery of my 3LT Z51 DSOM coupe tomorrow... the car drives even better than it looks!!

Of course, back in February 2008 (when the linked post was created), there was no C7 section on the forum. It was probably originally posted in the C6 General section, just as today we get C8 posts in the C7 General section. Eventually, there will be a C8 section(s) (probably once GM announces an upcoming C8). Until that time, there is not enough traffic in a new section to justify a vendor to become the sponsor of that section. Once there is a C8 section, C8/Zora posts in C7 will get moved to the new section, just as we recently moved threads on Forced Induction/Nitrous to the new C7 Forced Induction/Nitrous section.

Who did get it right shockingly was Jalopnik back in November 2011. Considering car was shown off January of 2013 getting it a year early and spot on was impressive.
