I switched my trunk lights to LED's also. Highly recommend this. They go out after about 10 minutes or so. I have tested this a few times at car shows where hatch is up.

Half the price vs others and it's not as bright, still much brighter than stock but once awhile in driver's seat you will see the trunk light so it all worked out, don't want it that bright. Actually I don't like that, the trunk light at certain angel will get right on your eyes.
I actually only used thumb nail to pry it open, it was very easy actually with the thumb. And there is a tab you need to push down to disconnect the wire, I watched 2 videos and 4,5 threads I don't think anyone mentioned them. anyways it was real easy, next one is license plate lights, might change them to match torch red or 5000k. Unlike older Vettes most power shuts down in a maximum of 10 minutes. Leave a map light on and it shuts down. The one thing that does not shut down is the receptacle in the hatch on the right side. That is where you can plug in a charger.
The Service Manual states even for OnStar than turns on periodically with the car off it returns to and off state in a few milliseconds. It also states an 80% charged battery should still start the car up to 30 days.
