Trunk light
Does the trunk light go off if the trunk is left open and if so how long?

It definitely times out, I think maybe ten minutes? I can't remember the exact time on it, but it will go out.

I think you are correct Rooster OG.
OP, swap the bulbs with LEDs so they will not drain the battery or get hot to the touch.

You need T10 led's if you want to swap.

Should go out in no more than 10 minutes from opening the trunk. Page 6-6 and 6-7 of the owner's manual (at least there in the 2015 manual).

Mine stays on about 5 minutes after the interiors go out. You only need 2 bulbs for the hatch area. I swapped mine to red leds.

I think one of them amazon said won't fit the vette, but not sure how accurate amazon is.
Really want to change out the trunk light to 5000k or close to reading light in front, front white trunk yellow it kinda bothers me :P

Red leds would look good for the license plate lights.

I switched my trunk lights to LED's also. Highly recommend this. They go out after about 10 minutes or so. I have tested this a few times at car shows where hatch is up.

They definitely time out.
I leave my trunk open in the garage 100% of the time.

In some states you may get stopped and ticketed.

After checking that first link on Amazon and seeing that they won't fit, Amazon directed me to these which are listed at fitting the vette:
Lots of good reviews. I haven't tried them personally, but I'll probably throw these in with my next order from Amazon.

I looked around and I actually have some left over T10 LED bulbs from my other car over 3 years ago. Installed it and it works great
Half the price vs others and it's not as bright, still much brighter than stock but once awhile in driver's seat you will see the trunk light so it all worked out, don't want it that bright. Actually I don't like that, the trunk light at certain angel will get right on your eyes.
I actually only used thumb nail to pry it open, it was very easy actually with the thumb. And there is a tab you need to push down to disconnect the wire, I watched 2 videos and 4,5 threads I don't think anyone mentioned them. anyways it was real easy, next one is license plate lights, might change them to match torch red or 5000k. I used following links.

Unlike older Vettes most power shuts down in a maximum of 10 minutes. Leave a map light on and it shuts down. The one thing that does not shut down is the receptacle in the hatch on the right side. That is where you can plug in a charger.
The Service Manual states even for OnStar than turns on periodically with the car off it returns to and off state in a few milliseconds. It also states an 80% charged battery should still start the car up to 30 days.
