I have found that the more you pay attention to 'detail' the more you know about your car. A good hand wash will make you aware of any new 'flaws' that might need attention, and a wipe down of the engine compartment will make you aware of any foreign substances that might make an appearance.
Yeah I might be a bit '****' but that is part of owning a Vette sometimes. Just like looking under your car's parking spot when it has set in one place for awhile, if it's clean under there , you're good to go, if there's spot of something, you get it checked out.
