My snow chains are on my Ford F150, but we aren't going anywhere. 17" of snow so far at our mountain home in southern NM and still coming down hard. It's been a massive storm, may get up to 24" by tomorrow if not more.
ratman6161 is correct in saying that the snow doesn't stick around, and the streets become clear rather quickly. This is true for the plowed and well traversed streets, but much of the less-traveled suburban neighborhood streets will get a snow/ice pack that lasts for weeks of no precipitation. I live on one of the main streets in and out of my neighborhood, though I still had to work to get the ice berm out from in front of my driveway. If I lived further into my neighborhood, my C7 would not be able to come out and play.
I used to have an AWD HEMI Charger with plenty of clearance and was an absolute tank in the snow. When I replaced it with a Camaro, I also bought a used truck. I'm glad I did, as I found with summer tires, that Camaro went nowhere in the neighborhood on the snow/ice pack. I'm guessing the new Stingray will behave the same.
