Mine came with the Corvette Racing (Jake) center caps ($210 option). The dealer gave me the original caps (flags with black background) in a sealed plastic bag. I actually like those better. Will probably turn them into some decoration for the garage one of these days.
You make a good point. I forgot that in some cases you get the standard parts in addition to the optional ones. Such is not the case, however, with badging or brake calipers.

Brake calipers would not, without question, make very good tree ornaments Year art ?
It's unfortunate the GM charges so much for alternate styles when the alternate is simply different (vs. better) than what comes standard. A great example is the "Stingray" door sill trim. $275 to have the word "Stingray" instead of "Corvette"? Seems excessive. Same with $210 for alternate center caps and $595 for red or yellow calipers instead of the standard gray or black. I find it especially amusing that on a Stingray with Z51 you can "upgrade" the brake calipers from black to red for $595 but on a Z06 it costs the same $595 to get black instead of red. Same with the exterior badging; on a Stingray you pay $100 to change from chrome to Carbon Flash and on a Z06 you pay $100 to switch from Carbon Flash to chrome. Go figure.
