With the A8 do I understand it right? Manual paddles or regular Drive mode?

With the A8 I'm sure sure I even understand the point of LC. When you think about it, don't all automatic cars inherently do LC via brake boosting?

Glad everyone enjoyed the video! I have yet to try it myself but will when I drive it again in the Spring!

So they teach it at Spring Mountain, but you don't get to try it?

Unfortunately it's just a demo.

Bummer. I will be looking to do Spring Mtn in mid March. Looking forward to it, but figured this was part of the class.

I have done it in my ZR1. Works pretty good but it will dirty your clutch fluid for sure. No lift shifts work as well as long as you never take your foot off the floor.

I agree, the A8 goes to 2,000 RPMS.

I wouldn't do that either. So what it would make a second faster.

I wouldn't question it too much, as I would think that the engineers have had time to figure it all out.

I saw a video with some GM engineers demonstrating the L/C on an M7, there 0-60 times sucked, usually in the 5.1 to 5.4 area, I do much better just pushing it to about 2,500 rpm and dumping. Even then if you keep the gas at 100% the nannies will knock you down.

I asked the same question while there and the answer was that it takes too long (90 minutes approximately) to teach everyone how to do it and they would rather spend that 90 minutes on the track.
