Who cares? We know people that feel the need to add extra badges to their cars are insecure and need everyone to know they spent more money then the other guy.

I'm ordering some Z51 NPP FE4 2LT badges soon.

I'm so glad I don't have a Z51 anymore. I hated all the sleep I lost worrying over the fact I didn't have a Z51 sticker on them.

As far as the Canadian saying that those who order a Z51 because they can't afford a Z06....I could never understand why Canadians buy vettes in the first place, knowing they can only drive them 2 months a year. And, my 2016Corvette Convertible's MSRP was 82,290.00 and last time I looked...I could have purchased a Z06 for LESS.

Americans need badges to feel special...the world knows this. It's why the Z06 says how much hp it has, and why everyone else in the world laughs about it. I personally debadge all my stuff...M3...debadged...z06...debadged. You can see my C5 in my avatar...no badges anywhere. The word Corvette is molded into the license plate filler and molded into the rear bumper...what more is necessary? I took all that plastic and rubber crap off...car looks way cleaner. I personally don't like cheap chrome plastic crap on the body of my car. A car should make a statement LONG before someone is close enough to see the little (hey, I paid more for my version) badge.

the convertible is also a model according to the chart. to me whether it has 3lt or convertible or z51 options those 3 cars are all the base stingray with upgrades. I still cant say there is more then just 2 models base and the Z06.

and honestly if someone wants to believe that then ok,,,,,, but would that same guy think it was total nonsense if a vert owner got badges that said "convertible top" I mean that's ridiculous isn't it???? kinda like the other badging guys do to represent, kinda ridiculous to a lot of guys

Final answer: for the C7, Chevy considers it a model. This is different than it was for C5 and C6 generations.
It would appear to me that even GM is conflicted. It says right there "Stingray Coupe WITH Z51 Performance Package". Emphasis on the words "with" and "package".

But tell me again why it matters!

Same reason people go on forums and ask 10,000 of their closest friends what color they should get. It's fun, entertaining, and has no consequences unlike the sometimes stressful things we have to deal with in our lives. It's our mindless getaway.

but......I owned a 2007 Corvette with the Z51 Option and back then if people asked I referred to it as, "having the Z51 Option or Package".

Now I own a 2014 Corvette Stingray that does not happen to have the Z51 Option. I refer to it as the "Corvette Stingray"

I called it what it was then and call it what it is now. It was an option then and is an option now. If I had the Z51 option now I'd refer to it as such.

I can't believe anyone thinks this is important enough to ask Tadge about.

Or that this is important enough to bring up for the 100th time. If you want it to be a model, fine, call it a model. IF you want a sticker on it, put a sticker on it. Why does anyone care what other people think about it? Grow up and stop needing confirmation to feel like you're a real man.

When I put the Z51 sway bars on my car I'm going to get some Z25 badges custom made.

This whole thing is dumb. When I had a Z51 optioned Corvette (I had 2) I didn't feel the need for a Z51 sticker on it. Now I have a Z07 optioned Z06. I don't feel the need to put Z07 stickers on this car. For one, the average person looking at the car could give 2 hoots about it. And two, an enthusiast will know what it is without 'em.
