I am away from my car and have no way to check on this.
Can someone tell me if the side markers in the front and rear bumer facia are also turn signals? If not is there a way to make them turn signals?
Also the markers in the rear facia when do they come on?
I just checked. Neither the front or rear are turn signals, they're just side markers. The reflectors on the rear fascia are just that, reflectors, no lights. I'm sure there's probably a way to tap into the wiring for the turn signals, but I'm not the guy to ask. Good luck!
On a slightly different question: I notice that the front marker is orange while the rear one is red. Seems odd to me to use orange. My motif for my car is Laguna Blue with black (wheels, badges) and red (calipers, interior). The orange just looks off and I thought it'd be cool to replace it with a red one. However I suspect that the orange front one is there due to some law. Does anybody know?
By law front side markers / reflectors are amber, rears are red. FMVSS 108 regulates all lighting and reflective devices on cars. If California has a vehicle inspection requirement, red markers in front would almost certainly cause a rejection. LEOs could pull you over and ticket you for it, but probably wouldn't bother.
Besides an extra set of tails, I am currently having a set of rear reflectors and rear side markers tint-coated by the same company that did all the light lenses in my C5. These will be lighter than the blackouts my C5 had so they should show a hint of the original lens color through. The PO of my '14 C7 had the front amber markers tinted with film and it definitely looks much better that way IMO (check my sig pic). I'll post pics of the tinted lenses when I get them back.
