Default PDR issue - stating no chip inserted!

So I just picked up my C7 this week, and figured I would try out the PDR yesterday. I popped in my chip from my gopro (64GB) and the screen is telling me there is no chip inserted!

I tried taking out and reinserting about 4 times. I even tried an alternate chip but the same thing.

Am I missing something here?

thanks.

Are you placing the SD card in the slot in the glove box for the PDR?

LOL I guess you did have to ask. Yes the slot for the chip on the left side of the glove box.

It was also inserted correctly. Full insertion was achieved

First time I tried mine it did that to me. Put it in my computer and found it was formatted NTFS I think. Reformatted to FAT32, reinserted it in the car, and it worked like a champ.

I had the same issue when I inserted a 64GB and I ended up just putting in a 32GB card. Problem fixed.

As I recall you can a format a 64GB card as 32GB, and just lose the space.

Honestly I don't know how to get the accessories on without turning the car on!

I formatted it to another type, then reformatted back to fat32 , inserted it 2 times and then it worked. Not sure what the issue is but I was finally able to record something!

Can't wait to use this on valet mode!

There is a TSB that explains a glitch in the software requires the engine to be running when you first insert the card

So it works sometimes and now it's pissing me off. This morning I inserted it 10 times and nothing. I leave come home leave again a few hours later and it works. Always have the car running and in neutral when attempting to start the pdr.

Sounds like something is going haywire with the electronics and a trip to the dealer might be necessary

You might have to take it in for a reflash.

And/or make sure it's not the chip. A few bucks for another chip is much easier than a trip to the dealer where you might get damage unrelated to your complaint!

I've got a 128GB class 10 SDcard in my 2015's PDR slot and it works just fine.

There are lots of freeware programs that will format SD Cards larger than 32GB in FAT32 format. I currently have a PNY 64GB SD card in my Z06.

Sure, but I think his car will only read up to a 32.
