Default Need some help deciding!

OK!
Have not been on here in a few years.
Went on to the military and have not had a veto since my last C6.
Been on the tossup lately between a new M4 and the C7.
There are things I like about both and dislike about both.
I know this is a Corvette forum I just want honest opinions on here.
I loved every one of my previous C6 and never had any issues with them.
I wanted to try out something new since I've owned 6 Corvettes and the M4 is a beast.
your thoughts are very much appreciated.

First, Thank you for your service.
I've never had to make the decision you're facing because to me, there is only one high performance sports car that is priced reasonably, Corvette. I tried a European sports sedan, but it was just that, a sedan. I wanted a car that stands out from the crowd, not just to gearheads, but to the average person. That's why I passed on a Mustang and that's why I didn't go for anything else.
At the end of the day, this is a decision you have to make based on what you desire.

To me the M4 is just another bimmer albeit a faster one and blends in with the crowd. The C7 sticks out among the masses of cars sort of like the higher priced exotics. I almost wish the C7 blended in a little more as I don't need unwanted attention when I park my car.

The M4 is a nice machine but the C7 to me is just more "special" plus it looks infinitely nicer than the M4.

Thank you for the input.
Speaking of military, on the Cummins Forum, I got a "Military" badge with my user name, how do I go about doing that on here? I saw that they added a 10 year CF Member

I know that the M4 is just another sedan but it does not drive like one nor is built like one, that thing has so much done to it which is why I was drawn to it.
The C7 I am looking at has an MSRP of 77K and the M4 is at 80,544.00 so very close in price.
One is a 2 seater and the other is a 4 seater.
I am wondering if I can get an all leather C7 (Dash included) with a 7MT and Z51 and RED the last 2 C6's I've owned were RED

Both great cars and special in their own ways. Very tough decision, but for me it comes down to the looks. The Corvette looks like an exotic supercar and for my money I like a car that performs better than most and looks better than most.

If you are going to spend 80K, why not get the C7 Z06? then there is no comparison to an M4.

The C7 Z06 is north of 80K and much like 100K.
I am not financing and do not want a car payment. It is better for my cash flow this way and living retired at 38.
Every K counts!
The Z06 is very nice but would not want to drive it every day at all.

There are some nicely option'd 1LZ and 2LZ Z06's for 85K or 1LZ Base for 74-80K

Excellent point. I had 2 E36 M3's and an E39 M5 and they were both really fun state of the art cars at the time. During the time I owned those BMW's I also had a modded C5 and 2 modded C6's. So I know where you're coming from.

That said, if you're thinking of a loaded Stingray at 77,000 or a loaded M4 at 80,000, just get the Z06. Maybe 10 grand more with comparable options and you will now have an explosively fast awesome looking and handling off the charts fun street car. An M4 is nice and very comparable to the Stingray performance wise, but neither of them are a Z06.

If you want the all leather interior in the C7 it's a 3lt, about 9K, in the Z06 the 3lz interior is about 8K. So base Z06 at 80K +8k for the interior =88K. Loaded Stingray is going to be about 80K, M4 is 80K. Tough choices but I would have to go with the Z06.
The BMW is really nice and look good. Even though it has 4 passenger capability would you be driving it that hard with 4 people in it? I don't think I would want to be the back seat passenger in the car going ***** to the walls, wouldn't mind being the front seat passenger.
I don't think that there is all that much difference in the Z06 and the Stingray on the street. I would post on the Z06 sub forum and ask those guys what they think. There are a bunch of them that had Stingrays before the Z06 came out.
But for me it would be the Corvette, better styling, more bang for the buck. And keeping Americans in jobs.
And, most importantly, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!

Well!!!

Ordered a TR Coupe 7MT Z51 Magnetic ride 2LT and a crap load of stuff with black wheels 😁😁😁😁
Put a deposit and made sure the inventory manager had the allocation for a Z51 and pulled the trigger!!! 72,800 and some change plus my military discount and since I bought 3 vettes from them before they took care of me.
Excited and looking at build date of mid Feb.

Congratulations! Sounds like a great car.
I am a bit confused by the "VR" ...are you saying you got a Torch Red? coupe?
Maybe it will get built on Valentines Day and show up here by St. Paddy's Day, I will be looking for it on the streets here in Austin.

Ahh yes, this was my biggest decision too. In the end I decided to go with the C7 over the Black M4.

Why?
Looks: C7
Practicality: M4
Price: Draw
Lower cost to Own: C7
Attention: C7
Better Drive: C7
Interior: C7
Speed: C7
Sound: C7

Long story short, the ONLY reason you should consider the M4 is because you need a 4 seater. Me? I already have a Mercedes to transport people if needed, so it would be pointless for me to get something in the "same" class in terms of usability.

I too considered the M4, as well as a Porsche and a c class AMG.

I wasn't expecting it, but I fell for a V8. The AMGs are nice, but the vette can also pull better than 30 mpg on the freeway. The vette has a trunk that fits a bike (with wheels removed and stacked on the frame) AND it has a removable roof. Everything about the vette is joyous to me. Yeah I said joyous and feel weird about it.

There's culture too. Where I live many people drive nice German cars, but they're not car people, and I don't want to be associated with that. I've never met a vette owner who also wasn't a car person.

Meh. Whatever.

Congrats on your purchase, you'll love it
