Soon to be married (for the first time) - no kids.
for me, the vette was the only car that met all of my requirements.
1- no roof
2- really fast
3- 2 seats
4 - around 30K
Show me another unmodified vehicle that does that, and you have my attention.
OH, and my fiance did the factory tour in Bowling Green with me and encouraged me to buy it. Maybe it was because they let her start a new stingray on the assembly line?

Seriously? Wtf does me being a 10 year member have to do with anything? I seriously don't think anybody can start a thread on this forum these days (serious or for fun like this thread) without somebody spouting off rediculous comments.

2. Did you have a Corvette or any other two-seater sports car before you were married to this woman?
3. While titling a Corvette a "Single Man's Car" is an opinion, I think it is also stupid comment. Furthermore, she is either jealous or concerned for your relationship.
One of them has to go. Hahaha.

I have owned corvettes every year of my adult life from 21 to now 64. Started when I was single and my 72 corvette survived marriage, two sons, and now still married and sons are out of the house on their own.

Widow with 2nd Corvette, and my sister is also a widow and owns a vette. My other 2 sisters and their husbands each have their own Harley's and all ride together...I don't at all see it as a single man's car. Take her to a vette show and let her see the diversity.

Interesting, We're empty nesters. My wife liked the used C5 we purchased back in 2012. However, she doesn't like the C7 I just bought. She wanted to keep the C5 because it was "period correct" for us. Like the OP's wife, she thought the C7 was a "young, single man's car" and not correct for me. Maybe she's not alone in that thought.

Married nearly 50 years and owned dozen + Corvettes since 1968. Our child is now a adult and has her own little 'gasoline toys' in the garage, as she refers to them. Marital status and kids have absolutely nothing to do with Corvette ownership. That opinion is based on nearly 50 years of ownership and being a part of Corvette Clubs in a dozen different cities across the US. It's more a 'lifestyle' thing. If you want one (or 2 or 3) go out and get 'em.....

Finalist 2020 C7 of the Year -- Unmodified
My wife hates Corvettes I am glad so I always make the decisions when it comes to buying a Corvette. Also 50 years old two kids in their mid 20's but do have 2 grandkids 7,9 that sleep over 4 to 5 days a week!

Married 18yrs, two kids 12&14. Wife wanted me to buy car w/4 seats so we could all enjoy the car. I drove a few and decided I had to have a vette. Surprisingly it has been great. My wife and I go out for date night in it and I take turns going out with each boy. Gives me a great opportunity to have some one on one. Both of my boys love it and my wife is happy because she knows how much I love the car.
