On this subject..... Question for you all..... as we pick up our new Base C7 Thursday. And, YES I have read the owners manual.... twice.

Am I correct in thinking that if you do NOT link the driving mode choice to other perimeters, you can selectively choose between:

Driving mode
Display setting look
Exhaust setting

I'm hoping to be able to choose these independent of each other. Example would be: Driving mode = touring; Display = track, and Exhaust = Sport

Or any other combination of the three. Correct???

Hope I understood what I read in the manual correctly.

Thanks,

That is correct, only things you cant 'unlink' is the magnetic ride shocks, engine (throttle response) and auto trans shifting.

Thank you !!! I appreciate the response. YES, I was aware of the Mag ride control being tied to the driving mode setting. It was the other stuff that I was hoping to choose to switch up.

I'm wondering if, for the M7, I'll ever use Tour again. Now it's always ECO or Sport. I like saving gas for my regular terrorist activities in Sport mode.
You better use it in V8 or the other4 cylinders will rust and your motor will never run again properly.... Actually someone who drives a Ford Focus told me that..

Track Mode: No wife, zipping around town.

Eco Mode: Daily commute and highway driving.

Tour: Wife is in car.

Weather: Rain or light snow

Could be the roads. Around here on our crappy New England pock marked pot-holed roads, it's easily noticeable. We have a 2LT base.

I pretty much never come out of Tour. Exhaust toggles between Track and Stealth, depending directly on whether I'm in my neighborhood and / or Wifey is in the car (she's not a fan of loud rumble-y exhausts).

Tour is what I use the most. When I want the exhaust loud I'll go to Sport or Track. For rainy or very cold days I go to Weather.

On my Z06 there is a definite difference in the ride between Tour and Sport. No where close to going from luxury car smooth to stiffly sprung truck rough but a definite difference.

I use Eco on the HWY due to manual, but in hilly areas I switch to Tour due to the hunting between V4 and V8.

Twisty mountain roads its sport.

To me, Mag ride is a must have.

Unless you have the optional (except for Z06s) mag ride suspension, there is no suspension change between the different driver modes.

So according to the chart in post 6 you can't change the cluster to tour while in sport or track mode?

I mess with my wife by changing the display and not telling her. Last time I did she diidn't say a word, so I finally asked, "Do you like the new display?"

"No. I HATE it!" she said.

Sigh. So I changed it back. (mumble)

I've never had my 2015 coupe out of sport mode.
