"Was a previous Chevrolet Performance Driving car with limited warranty."

Pass...There are lot's of un-abused C-7s out there that are low mileage. There is one at one of our local dealerships with <5000 miles for $50,000

I would probably pass on this one. Possibly get them to lower the price a lot more and or throw in A GOOD warranty, but think there are a lot of cars out there without that kind of a pedigree.

What exactly does "limited warranty" mean?

There are plenty of 14s with A-6, Z51, 3LT for under $55K. With a little negotiation, you can probably find one with no compromised warranty and the same mileage for that price or at least close to it. There's a reason it doesn't have the full GM warranty. Personally, I wouldn't touch a car that has had any part of the GM warranty voided for any reason.

If you were buying to modify it and blow the warranty anyhow, and if you could get the price down a few grand more, why not.

But if you want a very nice driver that you are panning to keep long term I would be looking for something that was pampered by a previous owner - not beat every day of its short life.

With 8,000 miles of track use, I would definitely pass.

In October I drove a BMW at BMW's Performance Driving course in Spartanburg, SC. The cars are really driven hard. I would think that a vette that was used as a Performance Driving Car would also be driven very hard. I would pass.

Used can be a great deal, but a Chevrolet Performance Driving car with a limited warranty is too much of a risk.

Thank you guys for the insight and all the responses. I figured it would be more of a risk then a reward. I'll just keep looking around.

A few years back my friend, Steve, bought a similar car from a dealer in S.D. It was a 2lt Z51 car with NPP, at the time they were selling for about $38,000, he got it for $30,000 bought an after market warranty for $2,500 and drove it for 5 years with out a hitch.
Just because it was driven hard does not mean that it was abused, most of the driving schools take very good care of their cars.
I would think that the car should be about $44,000 due to the history. Also of importance to me would be how it drives and that everything works as designed.
I noticed that it says 455 hp, while in '14 the Z51 cars did not have the NPP as a standard feature it seems odd that it is not listed as 460 hp and there is no mention of the NPP. Not a big deal though, just add an aftermarket exhaust.
But as others have said, you can get a '14 low mileage for around 50K that has not been driven hard.

Look for a low mileage car. Usually low mileage means it was a weekend car and was taken care of by the owner. Always find a car with some factory warranty left so you can have any problems you may find taken care of and I would get an extend warranty before the factory warranty runs out.

Could be one of the Ron Fellows cars, while they are driven very hard every day they are also very well maintained. Even still though I'd pass.

What both of these said. Figure out where the car came from and make your decision based on that. It could be a very well maintained car.

To all of the pass comments based on it being a "performance driving" care, are you all implying that a performance car like the corvette cannot withstand hard driving?
