And if you get the chance let us know just what this does for you or can do for us in the car. And is it worth risking it going to the dealer....
So far. It lets me sync up my Andriod phone to the display and lets me take advantage of the google auto apps, to include google maps and information (like, ask Google, "Where is the closest Burger King?"). I have checked all the other functions and all appear to be working like they did prior to upgrade. Let's hope they all continue to work properly. I say so far it is worth the risk.

That is very cool already! Can you ask general questions?
I got the update installed today, and generally I like it. Though I've only spent around 5 minutes playing around.
One thing I noticed, the Google tutorial says to press the speak button on the steering wheel to access "ok google" type of voice command functionality. When I press the button, it takes me out of android auto and back to the Chevy software. Has anyone else experienced this? Was I pressing the wrong button?
IIRC a TV commercial for AA recently, I think the "speak button" should be on the 8" display, not the steering wheel. In the commercial dad leaves the car and the kids push the button on the screen and txt mom that the kids have been good and we should get them a new bicycle. I'd have to see the commercial again though. Is there anything on the default of home screen of AA that has a "button" to push?
(I'd be way more convenient if it was the Push To Talk (PTT) on the steering wheel though).

I get to ask it questions one of two ways (that I found). First, there is a microphone button on the display. Second, I can push and hold the steering wheel blue tooth button (the one used for standard communication with the car). If I push the button quickly, I get the car. If I push and hold, I get the Android system waiting for my input. Hope this helps.
All 16 vettes can get the update. I got my update on March 2nd. Never received a coupon. Just told my dealer the AA update was released by GM and they did it. No questions or charge.
Your dealer seems to be dragging their feet.
Well I called my dealer and ended up arguing with them about this certificate/coupon thing. I'm itching to get AA, especially since Fri I'm going on a road trip. But they (the dealer) insisted I needed the cert. And the chat from chevrolet.com says I have to wait until the coupon is sent to the dealer and then the dealer alerts me. She also said, without reservation, that not all 2016s can receive the update.
How are you so certain that "All 16 vettes can get the update"? I mean I've heard that too and I've believed it also. It does make sense that all 16s should have the same hardware and that hardware should support AA. But GM says differently.
If you got Siri then you're using Apple's CarPlay not Android Auto.
I know -- I was just suggesting he try pressing the button longer to see if that works with his Android phone (and you don't have to be using CarPlay to use Siri)

I've seen all that. Installed it when I got the car 3 mo. ago. But behind the wheel use and experience is just something else. Bringing in any of my Chevy cars locally has been at times a dangerous matter!

OK, technically she is correct. Not ALL 2016 General Motors products are compatible with Android Auto. BUT, ALL 2016 CORVETTES ARE.
Go to another dealer that has a pair. Or, wait for your coupon.
45 minutes for the tech to finish what he was doing and start on your car, 30 min to complete the job, an additional 45 minutes for the service manager to figure out the job is complete and notify you.
Got my 16Z updated yesterday. But my archaic Motorola Droid Razor Max is not running Lollypop (5.0 or higher), therefore I can't run the Android Auto app on it.
Hopefully the phone will get updated to Lollypop someday.
BTW, after install of AA you will have to pair your phone again. Car won't let you pair while moving, so do it before you leave dealership.
2 weeks ago Google said Droid Maxx and Droid Razor Maxx will not be updated to 5.0 so buy a new Phone

Thanks for the info. Maybe I was in Eco mode, so I couldn't see it. I do see it in the PDR, but that's a bit more complicated to get to and use.
