Default Front Camera Video Interface - Perhaps a REAL alternative?

I am not going to mention any names, but for those of us that installed a front camera and now need an alternative that actually exists so that we can display the image on the display on the dash, can be ordered and from a real company. Has anyone tried this?

Ok google MY-CUE VIM and it will pop up first in the list.

It just does video, no phone mirror.

My wife's SLK 250 has one of this company's system installed and they are real and seem to stand behind their products.

Not cheap, but the system on her car was about the same.

What is the hive's collective opinion? Not fancy, not cheap, but will seem to do the job.

Seems awful pricey. For a front camera only, I think I'd be more inclined to do something like this:

Not as convenient as putting it on the regular screen, but the whole thing costs well under $100, and how often do you use it? I was much more interested in the mirroring aspects of the Navtool, but I don't think we'll ever see that product.

Edit: This is the correct link:

If the other one were real, proven and shipping, I'd pay up to $1000 for it....

A freind/forum member pointed me to this one. Seems like it does the HDMI phone mirroring. Just one problem, I cannot read Korean! Anyone able to translate this? Seems like it fits the bill.

http://www.indiwork.co.kr/

The actually show it installed in a real live C7!

I emailed them. Will report back what they say.

Thanks, Flame. If nothing else, it's clear now that there is a solid market and emerging competition for this type of device.

Some of this is pretty hard to understand. I'm sure it's a machine translation from the Korean. I'm not sure what this means, for example.

It will not tolerate a little noise! Receiving the HDMI output of the wireless Wi-Fi receiver 'APCAST' to direct the output to LVDS.
In the current market there are many HDMI output capable devices. Does not cover the phone models available wireless mirroring APCAST, Google's Chrome cast and various Android PC,

I'll be eagerly awaiting someone to give one of these a try.

Yes, the Google translate is a bit rough, but otherwise I would be totally clueless. Since I have a $325 for "The Vendor that shall not be named" I figured, what the heck. My only disappointment is that I have the side camera installed so I have to get some new front fender grilles and I get the pleasure of busting my knuckles getting the front fender off to replace them.

I'll post a thorough review once I receive it. Hopefully the instructions are in English but I bet not. If it is just plug and play I'll figure it out.

I tried to view http://indiwork.co.kr/ with both Firefox and Google. If you look at the top left of their site, there is a way to convert the currency to US dollars. There is also a way to translate the page into English. It makes it a little bit more understandable.

Just purchased barely used C7 and now I'm shopping around for a front camera. BUT I will NEVER buy from Asia again, did I say never ever. On my BMW image is flickering, overheating, not switching just to name a few. Patiently waiting for any news on the "other" product.

Hopefully your existing camera install will work with the Korean unit. Looking forward to hearing all about it. I've got a friend who's wife is Korean. If you really need help with the directions, I can ask if she'll look at them.

couldn't post the picture before. Basically you got to take the screen out, and splice in 5 wires. It's not plug & play and made in china, not for me.

sorry it's junk

Got an email back from them. Alex is correct. This is not plug and play and requires removing the dash to access the plug that goes into the video screen.

Not good.

I just back into parking spaces, don't see the need for something like this. I was looking into a camera for the back of my toy hauler that will put the picture on my iPhone. They are readily available, wireless video to iPhone or android, small camera can easily go behind the grill and a really good one is less then $200.
