Just wanted to ask the question, has anyone done anything to have their seat redone, more foam or whatever to make them more plush. I love my 2lt seat but my wife has a bad back. Thanks
The c7 also needs a wider seating position between the bolsters to avoid having the side bolster stick into my thigh and I am not a big guy-5'8" 150 lbs.
I had my 67 seats reupholstered with "gel packs" inserted between the foam and the leather. The upholsterer recommended this to firm up the seat a bit. (I'm a dentist with a bad back). See if your local upholsterer is familiar with gel packs.

Thanks, yes you would think the bad back would be me after years of being down in the mouth. I have not gotten with an upholster but plan to.
A good auto upholstery shop will be able to make your seat as comfy as you want.
I'm sure a really good shop could figure it out, but Rooster's above thread reference to "Crossed Flags Fan" post is also very interesting.
After all, Crossed Flag's bending, banging and drilling 3/8" holes in the seat foundation---not exactly for the faint of heart. It will take a shop to explain it before they do it, even if it is mostly invisible under the seat cover.
"There's been several options on the forum to make the bolsters more flexible.
I chose to drill holes in the both sides (top and bottom, left and right side bolsters. Don't use anything larger than a 3/8 inch drill bit, otherwise you'll see "dimples" in the seat cover (ask me how I know).
I also made two cuts about a 1/4 deep in the foam from front to back.
I also bent the metal bar (using a hammer) about 3/4 inch away from the cushion."
Hope GM is listening here. I would like a softer back seat in the deltoid back area. My bolster is relaxed. The bottom's and the back's on the standard seats are on the firm side.

Before spending a bunch of money having the stock seat modified, try searching Amazon, Google, for Automobile Seat Cushion.
There are a lot of options out there, including foam, gel, one's with cutouts for the Coccyx, and ones with lumbar support. Even heated ones. You might find something there that will make your wife a lot more comfortable.
A cushion that raises the center seating position will also reduce the effect of the side bolsters.

I find my C7 seats (std GT) to be plenty firm but conform very well and so are comfortable. If you play with the adjustments you can match your shape pretty well.

You are correct, we had the seat adjusted pretty good for her. I took someone for a short ride and he had moved everything before I knew it.
Usually the softer the seat the harder it is on the back since you don't get enough support.
Right now we don't need the seats widened any more. They finally listened to all the complaints about the lack of lateral support in the C5/C6 seats and starting building the seat more like the way it should be built and we are seeing people already complaining about not being wide enough. Soon we will lose what we gained and be back to installing aftermarket seats to hold people in place when cornering hard.

Thanks Bill I agree about the width and probably not her problem. I think proper lumbar adjustment will help. At least I hope so I enjoying driving my vette but I enjoy it more when she is along.

If you go to an Autozone, they have black seat-pads that you just place on the seat and slip the elastic back piece over the back of the seat. Not too sexy, but it adds about 1/4" of cushioning over the bottom and back of the seat and might make quite a bit of difference in the "cushy" department.
