I'm getting mine installed today. I'm getting, bumper, front fenders, hood, headlights and mirrors. Ill post pics later. Had it on my previous car a 370Z for two years and never had a single nick on the front.

Had a few different ones. Prefer 3M. A little thicker than the latest ones like XPel but work better at protection and not getting nicked up themselves and looking bad.

I had the Xpel Ultimate done on the hood, bumper, grill, full fenders, rockers, mirrors. Practically invisible, no chips after 1+ years. Comes with a 10 year warranty. I believe Xpel is a vendor here so get in touch with him for recommended installers.

PO of my '14 did the full bumper, hood, front fenders, mirrors, A-pillars, CF roof (including painted sides), roof bow, full rockers up to the rear quarter line, lower door sections, sides of rear fascia and the front face of the rear spoiler. Guess it would have been easier to list what wasn't done. This is my dd that I drive 100 miles a day on canyon roads with lots of debris spit at it and the clear bra protects beautifully.

It's all 3M as far as the above. This morning, I had Xpel Ultimate applied to a set of carbon flash skirts I am mounting today.

I will never dd a car without clear bra again. I have full frontal coverage with Xpel on my Mini Cooper S that I drove to work for 5 years and it still looks pristine.

I also did the Xpel Ultimate.... Hood, fenders, front bumper, rockers and inside door handle area.
No chips so far... what's amazing is that you can't really see the difference between side door without Xpel and rocker with...
Torch Red.

Will an Xpel rocker panel kit interfere with side skirts? I'm wondering if I should install them before or after I take the car to get the rockers done.

Get the rockers done first then have the skirts wrapped.

I just installed a set of skirts today. I bought my Stingray with the rockers already wrapped in 3M clear bra. I had the skirts wrapped in clear bra this morning before mounting them - it was easier wrapping them off the car. The clear bra on the rockers on my car does not wrap all the way under the car where the skirts attach so I had the guy who applied the clear bra not wrap the part of the skirt that contacts the rocker. They went on perfectly. Honestly, it would not have made a difference if both surfaces had been clear bra'ed before I installed the skirts because they are attached so securely with four screws and 6 rivets each.

Which ever you decide to go with, make sure you find a good & I mean A+++ installer. All Xpel "certified" installers are not created equal. Ask me how I know.

Have Xpel Ultimate on my DD ('15 Impala) and 3M Clear Bra on my C5. Both do a great job of protecting the car. They are well worth the money IMO.

I already had 3M Pro Series installed on my 2015 Optima and a year into it I was happy with it so I had the same product installed on my C7.

My local 3M installer gave me a screaming deal on my C7 not only because I was a repeat customer I also got it done in December just before Christmas, which is their slow period. Cost me 40% less than the two bids I got from Xpel Utimate installers.

Got the entire front-end done (full hood, front fascia, both front fenders), mirrors, door edges, door cups, two pieces on the door where I push to close the doors, both door sills and rocker panels, and gas door. He did not use a pre-kit kit so there are no visible lines, all edges were wrapped underneath on places like the hood, wheel wells, under the front fascia, gas cap.

Which ever brand you select it will be totally worth it. It will give you piece of mind when driving down the freeway. In fact, soon after I had it installed, on two different occasions I heard and saw two rocks hit then bounce off my front fascia, both hits were really loud and were sizable rocks. Neither hit chipped the paint

Whichever product you select make sure they don't use a "pre-cut" clear bra kit, will look TERRIBLE, you will see clear bra lines everywhere! Also, If you plan to have the rocker panels done, make sure the quote includes removing the film GM installs in front of the rear wheels, not only is the film crap it looks horrible.

One last point; just remember clear bra is not perfection, it's protection.

I've had mine on my 2014 C7 for two years and it's great. They even replaced the factory clear plastic in front of the rear wheels that turned yellow. Just make sure the installer uses the 3M product.

I'm only aware of two brands of self-healing paint protection film: Xpel Ultimate and 3M Scotchgard Pro Series. Xpel has a 10 year warranty, 3M has a 7 year warranty. Go with one of these. Be specific, don't just specify Xpel or 3M. Both manufacturers produce more than one version of PPF. I covered the front bumper, full hood, full front fenders, mirrors and full side rockers (including replacing the factory film). If you don't have full panels covered, you WILL have exposed edges.

I forgot to mention. Absolutely be sure you use a "certified" installer! 3M & Xpel certify installers, and if they are not Xpel & 3M will not warranty the product should something go wrong during the warranty period.

You can verify if the installer is certified by calling either 3M or Xpel. You can also find out via their respective websites.

Not happy with my install but also short and decided to live with it. Check the forum and yelp for reviews before picking an installer.

I have had the 3M and the SunTek and liked the SunTeck much better, was thicker and protected better than the 3M. Of the three installers here I spoke with all try to stay away from 3M and said even their pro series is going away after only being out one year, they have something else coming out to try to compete w/ Xpel and SunTek now. The dealer put the 3M on my Stingray and I can see how much less it protects than the others, plus it shows more of an orange peel underneath that the others don't, all the installers showed me pics they had of how much better the other products looked and the 3M is more prone to yellowing and has the shortest warranty. My wife just got a new Lexus and I opted for the SunTek again as it gave me great results for the last 4 yrs on my SUV. Just my opinion from having two of the brands and going to install shops to see what they thought and could show me as I wanted to see for myself to form an opinion. Good luck either way, putting something on is the way to go for sure.
