So this afternoon while driving home, my car just die out of the blue. Coming to a complete stop in the street, the car's engine/electronics all shut off. Tried starting it and no luck, no power or anything. Couldnt open the door but the window did work so I had to climb out of the car that way. Called the dealership and they came to tow the car. Will call them tomorrow to see what was the problem.
Im assuming it is late to lemon this car after a little more than a year of ownership? Had engine parts replaced, auto trans is acting up, the squeak in the exhaust is driving me crazy.

Sorry for your trouble. In the future, there's a manual door release on the floor beside the door so you won't have to climb out the window next time (page 1-6 in the 2014 owners manual).

You do realize that that little lever on the floor next to the seat is used to open the door in case of power failure<-- Too slow in the type as the above reply beat me to it...
Not sure about the laws in your state but many "lemon laws" center on repeated repair attempts for the same issue.
Anyway, I feel your pain as I have had mine in a few times and just recently got it back a few days ago. Good luck

I tried the door release by the driver side, it didnt open. I did see the story of the vette owner that perished in the heat because he couldnt open his door so I knew about the release that moment.

So cant go the lemon law route then. I got the car back a few weeks back after the dealership had it for 3 weeks fixing the engine. Now the engine noise that I bought the car in for is back and even louder this time. Starting to regret getting the first or second year model car....shouldve waited for the 2016 because my uncles's c7 is smooth compare to mines.
so no power at all but the electric windows worked.

No. I jumped into the passenger seat and the orange airbag light came on so there were some power I guess...I pushed the start button but nothing came on.

What? If this is true, I would have a serious problem with this driving this car in the future.
I hope its the ecm thats causing the poor shifting/jerkyness and bad gas mileage. I did notice that I had bad gas mileage when I got the car back from the dealer.

That is very concerning the manual door release did not work?'
Can u please tell me exactly where u reached for the manual release?
I've owned C6 and now C7. With a dead battery I have opened the doors with manual release.

I'm going to test all the of my manual releases today.
Things don't seem to add up here. Not saying the OP isn't correct in his observation of events, its just having an electrical problem that leaves the car partially powered followed immediately with a mechanical failure of the manual door release doesn't add up. In my career as a business machine repairman I've seen problems that baffled the mind but made sense once solved.
Anyway, my first thought is that power to the front fuse panel may have been lost. You mentioned having repair work done to the engine, perhaps the mechanic left something loose, like the main power cable from the back, or partly dislodged the fuse panel. The whole fuse panel simply unplugs from its mounting base. That's what the 2 lock levers are for. That might also cause other problems you've mentioned, caused perhaps by an intermittent electrical connection.
Good luck with this repair and let us know what the dealer says was wrong. We'd all like to know.
