E mailed GM Customer support twice one week apart and sent PM on this forum and have had no reply. It is concerning blue tooth connectivity issues with the IPhone.
They have been excellent on other concerns including my A8 issues but not open about this issue.
BTY Apple 9.3 was not a fix

I don't really think this last issue was theirs. From what I read, Apple changed the Bluetooth version (or something like that) which borked a whole bunch of Bluetooth things related to the iOS. iOS 9.3 has my iPhone working like it's supposed to again.
Richard, could you be more specific on what Bluetooth issues you are having? A number of members started having BT issues with iOS 9.2.1 and their problems have been resolved with iOS 9.3. Would really like more information about your issues to see if they are similar or completely different.

I'm confused. I get my car tomorrow and have been holding off on updating to 9.3 on the assumption that the update is the issue. ? Is it just hit and miss with the software update? I have an iPhone 6

Shows "Richards IPhone Disconnected" then "Richards IPhone Connected" message multiple times while driving. Have not used it yet to see if the media source changes to Bluetooth as before.

I get this quite a bit as well and am on an Android platform Galaxy S6. It will work perfect for a week and then I'll have trouble with it connecting and disconnecting. Doesn't matter if the phone is plugged in or not when trying to access Pandora.
It could be the car or the phone. I use an iphone 6 and 5s, the 6 will sometimes do what you describe, I keep it on my left side. It will also break up when streaming bluetooth. If I put the 6 in the center cupholder it works fine. The 5s is fine no matter where irs located.
In my truck ('15 GM) the 6 works fine. But on my boat the 6 will never connect if I have it on me at the helm and the 5s works fine.
I would try another phone for a bit if possible, it could be the bluetooth receiver in the car as well but its easier to try another phone vs try another car. If another phone has similar issues then I would talk to the dealer.
I have no issues with BT connectivity but after iOS 9.2.1 came out, my iPhone 6S would switch to BT music audio after any "phone event" (text message, phone call, navigation announcement, etc.), instead of going back to the original music source.
I updated to 9.3 and haven't been able to test yet whether all those events cause the same problem, but it does not fix the issue with the Escort Live app. This app connects with the radar detector and generates both visual and audio warnings. Now after every warning message, the radio quits playing and I have to select the radio button to get music playing again. It's frustrating enough that I no longer use the Escort Live app. This may be related to the fact that the iPhone is connecting to both the car and the radar detector via BT simultaneously. But prior to iOS 9.2.1, everything worked correctly.
It's interesting times we live in when a cell phone operating system "breaks" our cars...

Thanks for the explanation. I suspect that it is an issue with your iPhone BT transmitter. My iPhone 6s connects with my car when the phone is inside and my car is anywhere within 50 feet of my house. Never have any issue with disconnecting when the phone is in the car.
Can you try somebody else's iPhone to see if it also suffers the same issue in your car? That would help diagnose the condition as related to your car as opposed to your phone.

You are correct wife's iPhone does not have the issue. I have a ticket open with Apple and they just added that step. Every time you contact them they give you one more step not the whole procedure. Thank You

I hope Apple is able to resolve your issue by either repairing or replacing your phone. It could be either the BT transmitter or receiver in the phone that is causing the connection to be lost.
