Hi all
I'm ready to buy my first C7 and would like opinions on getting the
Z51 pkg. Does it make the car more appealing down the road when its
time to trade. Any opinions are appreciated
Not for me, it wouldn't. I ordered a base Stingray just like I wanted and am not worried about selling it. So far Z51's are depreciating faster than the base coupes.

Could you please cite your sources for this information on Z51 depreciation vs standard coupes. I'm very interested

NO
NO
Unless you find somebody who is going to track the car, your Z51 package will not help you sell your car; nor, will you re-coupe your money for it.
From: Calgary, AB. There's a reason why white was the only color offered on every year Corvette. Proud Canadian German Jamaican!

what? If you look at Black Book, there's a 1.5k add for cars with Z51, all things being equal, a car with Z51 is more desirable and worth more than a car without.

Thats EXACTLY what my research says and I came to the same conclusion. Where do these guys make up their facts from?

Most people "hear" something on the internet, take it as gospel then propagate the inaccurate information.
By the way OP, there is no right set of answers on this (maybe facts of depreciation/value notwithstanding). I bought a Z51, love it, will drive the car until it doesn't drive anymore. Hope to talk the wife into a vette for her one day, and that will be a Z51 too.
To each their own about whether or not to order the Z51...no issue there, but to state that that the resale is less then one without seems to me to be irresponsible and false. I get the arguments on both side..great...do what you like..I drove one with and one without and went with the Z51...
I've had my C7 for a little over a week now and I'm glad I opted for the Z51. I like the look of the larger tires and the suspension is a must have if you like driving on the twisties.

Exactly my point. If you only sell a Z51 for $1500 more than a base Stingray, you lost more money to depreciation.
Threads like this make no sense. People are comparing desirability with value. Of course a z51 is fetching 1.5k more on sale or trade. It's more money then a non z51 equipped car at the time of sale. So that's just basic math.
The question that is asked is if it makes the car more desirable at time of trade or sale. And that is in the eye of the buyer. Logic would dictate that whatever percentage of cars that are sold new with that packed is similar to the number of used buyers that would be looking for the same package.

Nobody said the resale value was less. I said they depreciate more than base model. You pay a lot more for a Z51, than the difference when you sell it.
