Something like the Fusion for Plastic ?
jaki30:
The ABS Plastic Splash Guards were thoroughly cleaned, scrubbed with a solution of Simple Green, and then wiped down with a 70/30 mix of Isopropyl Alcohol to water. Then sprayed with an Adhesion Promoter (2 coats) then 2-3 coats of the body color match.
The key to the DIY project is patience when painting and making sure the coats are very dry before each coat, and making 100% sure the surface is properly cleaned for the acceptance of the Adhesion Promoter and then the body color paint.
The end result is a perfect flawless match. Both the Adhesion Promotor and matching body color paint are aerosol spray cans.
You can either buy one of 2 brands......Duplicolor or Automotive TouchUp. The Duplicolor paint can be found with an exact body color match at any AutoZone store and is much lower in price than the AutomotiveTouchUp brand.
Duplicolor also offers an Adhesion Promoter product
Besides the Splash Guards installed, we also added C7 Side Skirts (and front splitter).
Another thing to consider, and not too expensive is putting on Cleartastic Plus Protective Film. They are a forum sponsor and Ed was great to work with. They have several kits and I put on most of them..... These kits are for DIY installation.
Behind the Front and Rear Wheel kit, Rocker panel / Lower Door Protection kit, and I also put on the Mirror kit.
These REALLY help to protect the paint from stones, sand, etc kicking up.
I ordered stage 1 knowing I would install the shirts, and splash guards because it was cheaper doing the aftermarket parts. The Z06 without anything is a gravel punching bag. The splash guards, and skirts eliminated most of the gravel hitting the doors, and rear fenders, but it was hitting the floor panels making that "cosmic" sound. All was fixed with two cans of undercoating.
